Maidstone Hairy Bear

This is the only place I will bring my boys! My 3 year old is great at having his haircut and loves going to the 'cool place' to have his hair done. My 2 year old HATES having his haircut, but Martin is always so patient and really professional (I don't know how he manages to cut hair so well on a screaming child!) He also makes sure the child is most at ease, today I had my son on my lap on the couch and Martin did the haircut there as getting him onto a chair was an absolute no! Absolutely great place with great staff. 100% recommend!

My little boy Oscar had his second hair cut ever today and I was not looking forward to it. HOWEVER...

Martin and the rest of the team in the shop were brilliant and made Oscar and I feel very welcome from the onset

Fantastic place, perfect for our 4yo who hates getting his hair cut! The staff were so patient with him, and did a great job with his hair! Staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and we'll definitely be coming back.

Martin gave my 10 month old his first haircut today :) Decided to book after recommendations from family with children who have their haircuts at Hairy Bear, so glad I did! I'd been apprehensive about it but I needn't have been! Martin was really patient and calm, I think that rubbed off on my little boy who was happy and relaxed whilst having his hair done. The typical baby fidgeting didn't get in Martin's way and he gave my son a gorgeous tidy up. Can't wait to take him back, and I'm relieved to not have to trial a new salon each time he needs a cut. If you're looking for a barber for your little one, no matter how fidgety, definitely give Martin a ring 😊

What can I say Martin was a absolute god send, my 3 year old is autistic and hates having his hair cut or even brushed Martin was calm with him worked with his mood and done a fantastic job, never ever did I think I would see the day that my son would have clippers used on his hair and at one point just sat there and let him do (until the it got around the ears lol).. this will definitely be our only barbers will us in future and if your child has sensory issues like mine I highly recommend these guys. Thank you so much for making my boy look even more handsome for his first day at school.

I have taken both my kids here for a cut and the atmosphere isn't like a normal hair dressers! It genuinely feels like your round a friends house! Both Tara and Martin are friendly, Knowledgeable and engaging and make the whole experience excellent! Martin recommended a hair product to me that has totally changed the way I do my hair now! Highly remomended!!!

I took my son to see Martin (having read the reviews) as my son has autism and is very sensitive to having his hair cut (along with many other things.) Martin was very patient and gave my son a brilliant haircut, without any tears. I will definitely use martin and the hairy bear again and highly recommend him to anyone with similar concerns for their child. 5 star service 🌟

My little boy suffers from glue ear and has sensory problems, I have taken him to various barbers and hairdressers before but each time it was a very traumatic experience. The Hairy Bear was recommended to me and I am so so glad I took my little boy there! Martin was absolutely amazing and so patient with him, the whole haircut he reassured my son that he was doing good and kept everything so calm. My little boy seemed to enjoy the playstation and Martin was more than happy to do the haircut on the sofa while he played.
The most amazing place for children who struggle with haircuts! I would 100% recommend Martin and the staff at The Hairy Bear and we are most definitely coming back for a second haircut very soon. One very happy Mummy and super handsome boy with a smart new haircut!
