George's Barbershop

Took my four year old here today and his hair was cut by a bloke with a foreign accent in his 30s/40s. Was our first time here. I asked him to keep the hair fairly long and not use the clippers - in response he asked me what number I wanted, I clarified - no number, just an inch off, a trim, no clippers. He started with scissors, not taking much care or time on it and quickly moved onto clippers. I said nothing. My son was as good as gold the whole time, kept still and listened to a story my husband read him. Despite this, the man cut him with the clippers both on his neck and his ear, making my son cry. There was no apology at all. I asked the older man there (George?) why this had happened when my son wasn't wriggling, especially as I had asked him NOT to use clippers, his response was that if he had used the scissors he would've taken a chunk out of his ear instead. The cut wasn't great either. No apology and I didn't want to pay but I did. Felt like I let my son down. Horrible.
