Absolute shambles of a haircut and beard trim, when I asked for my usual number 1 back and sides I didn’t expect to be scalped. I ended up with an extremely uneven cut, with painful burns and red spots to the sides of my head. Also sustained a very uncomfortable razor burn on my throat. Definitely will not be returning here, cowboy barbering at its finest. Don’t be fooled by cheap prices. Had to go to work looking like this. Never again

I've been visiting this establishment for years. Great service and a great atmosphere at a great price. Not to mention free local parking and convenient opening hours.

If you want to pay £50 for the pretentious 'stylist', 'senior stylist', 'artistic director' rubbish found in high street hairdressers..... then you're in the wrong place.

Don't let the humble appearance deter you. If you want a smart, clean, no nonsense, gent's haircut with intelligent conversation and banter, then Solon's is the place!

Have been coming here for years and each time it’s a perfect experience. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff with great attention to detail. It’s always quick to get done with a more than fair price. Couldn’t recommend these guys enough!!!

My "go to" barbers for many years. Easy free parking in Iceland just across the road or by the tennis courts of Loretta school in Marlborough Gate (the alley at the far end takes you almost to the door, just turn left). Don't use this parking at school pick up times!

Been coming here for a good few years. 12 or £13 now for a standard cut. Always friendly. Parking in Iceland directly opposite, currently free for 1 hour.

I moved to St Albans a few months ago and have been to a few barbers in the area. Most of them were dead average and ridiculously expensive. I eventually found Solon's Gents Hairdressing and I am extremely happy with them. I've been there twice so far and I received good friendly service and a great cut. The price being what it is, is just a bonus!

I always do my hair cut in Solon’s. Ali is a good barber. The place is neat and clean. Reasonable price too. Definitely recommend this place.
