Been going here for over a year now and it’s the best barbers I’ve ever used.

All the staff are welcoming and friendly and all the extras that are included in the price make it stand out from any other barber shop.

You get offered a drink when you arrive, nose wax, eyebrow trim, hair wash, hot towel.

This is honestly the best barbers around and I wouldn’t let anyone else touch my hair.

I want to start by saying I really feel sorry for giving E & S a 1-star review as it is an excellent barbers, but I had an unpleasant experience last time, so will now be looking elsewhere. Before this visit, I’d be giving 5 stars all day long.
I've been using E & S New Eltham barbers for about 10 years or so and have always been happy with the service they provide; good haircuts, spotlessly clean inside, friendly, professional service, so I always walk away happy. One small criticism is only the awful music channel they have on all the telly’s, but that’s just my taste.
When we came out of lockdown and shops reopened, E &S had created an app where you could book a slot for your haircut, therefore avoiding the previous queuing, so a really good idea. You create a login, set up an account, book your slot and get a confirming email, so it works really well and you can choose which barber you want, as well as the services you want, unless you only want a dry cut. The app is called "Men Grooming" which is a badly chosen name to say the least, but that aside it’s still a really good barbers.
So why one star?
Well, I used to only ever get a dry cut pre covid, but when the app was introduced, dry cuts were no longer available; you could only book a wash and cut, at a slightly dearer price; £17 instead of £13. I didn't mind and accepted this for my next few haircuts, but I am very particular about the shampoo I use, so decided to try and cheat the system, as I didn't like the shampoo they were using, or how my hair felt afterwards. I looked on the app to see if there was an imminent slot available which there was, so I pulled up and parked, stuck my head in the door and asked if there was any chance of a cut, but I hadn't booked. I was advised to take a seat, and when the barber was free after a couple of minutes, he grabbed the tablet and booked me in, asking me to select my name which was in the system, from my previous bookings. I told him I only wanted a dry cut, but unbeknown to me, he booked me in for a wash and cut as that was the only option available to select.
So I sat down, got my dry cut in 20 minutes, and was happy with the service. What I wasn’t happy about, was then being charged £18, without being told at time of booking.
Yes you get a nose wax, a hot towel and a 15 second neck and shoulder massage thrown in, but you probably get that everywhere now. There are plenty barbers nearby offering dry cut’s for £12-£14, so I will be trying them from now on. I’m not being stingy, but this was bad service and not acceptable.
Sorry E &S, you do provide a very good service but it is flawed and unfair if you only want a dry cut, so I’m afraid it’s 1 star from me.
Ironically, the "What services did they perform" menu in Google Reviews offers "scissor cut" which is a service E & S don't offer on their app.

I regularly use MEN GROOMING, and have done since it was E&S BARBERS before hand. The quality of service and added free extras you get for the price is well worthwhile. You get a hot towel, nose wax, eyebrow trim, ear-hair removal via flame and free drinks whilst there. I’ve used many barbers from there, but mainly use RIF, previously I’ve used Erk and Mehmet too. All of which are experts when it comes to mens hair and deliver the sickest of skin fades.

I wouldn’t ever go anywhere else.

Amazing atmosphere, amazing haircuts amazing everything. If you wanna look good and have nice looking hair come here. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to cut my hair.

Friendly, high quality, attention to detail and genuine people.

All the staff here are very friendly, offering you a drink straight away making you feel welcome.
Definitely worth a visit, the booking app is handy too.

The worst barbers I've been to in years! I wouldn't get a haircut again from here if they paid me. Stay well clear.

These guys were more interested in watching football than focusing on a service people are paying for. The guy cutting my hair was literally watching TV and doing commentary whilst attempting to do a haircut, zero ability to blend the hair, no customer service, as much barbering skill as a butcher. I think he spent less than 10 mins to make a mess and charged close £20 for it!

Not sure what has happened to barbers in this part of London over the last few years, zero pride in their work, just interested in shamelessly charging money for a shocking experience, seems like every joker around has turned into barber.

Even 1 star is too much for this place, can't believe places like this are allowed to stay open.
