The Barber Shop

My 13 year daughter went here with her friend for a cut yesterday. The stylist announced in front of all the salon that my daughter was "Crawling with lice".
I promptly combed through her hair and had no lice whatsoever out of it. Granted she had recently been treated and egg shells may have remained.
I understand totally the stylist refusing but feel that some tact and discretion would have been more professional (and kind).
I called the salon to explain this, I was not rude, tried to explain to the stylist that my daughter had been recently treated and that she has a skin condition that has been mistaken for nit eggs before, where she abruptly talked over me, not listening to what I was trying to explain and said "Look love, I've been doing this for over 30 years, if you got a problem come and see the manager" and slammed the phone down on me.
Very unprofessional and unapproachable attitude. I don't see the point in calling to see the manager, their customer service speaks for itself, where it seems acceptable for staff to hang up on a customer that is still trying to explain and resolve a situation.
I then took my daughter, the same evening, to Visual Hair Design (by the post office in town) and she finally got her hair cut with no problem whatsoever.
The stylist at Visual Hair Design was friendly, professional and she came out looking (and feeling) great.
If you're looking for a professional, friendly or sensitive stylist, I wouldn't recommend you go here.

I recently moved to the Merthyr area and after looking for a decent place to get an hair cut, colleagues at work told me to try the Barber shop.
Maria, Kath and the others gave me a great welcome, very friendly & professional.
I have now had a few hair cuts there and will be returning today for another.
For a in town hairdresser the price is good too.
Currently waiting for it to open to get my Monthly trim.

I have been visiting the Barber Shop in Merthyr for many years and have found Maria and all of the staff to be nothing but polite, courteous and professional in how they work. My son (who is somewhat discerning when it comes to having his hair cut) is really happy when he has his hair done here. If you appreciate good service and a good hair cut, then I cannot recommend this place enough. If you don't, then there are loads of other places around ;-)

Amanda did a beautiful cut on my hair. My adult son who has a disability was with me but nervous to have a hair cut and beard trim. Amanda was so lovely with him and made him feel right at home. Thank you so much 😊

Brilliant service my husband and son would never have their hair cut anywhere else always professional excellent service. Highly recommended.
