Route 66 Barbers

Amazing team offering consistently great cuts. Been having my hair cut by the team for over 25 years and have never had a complaint. Lovely guys who can never do enough. My son will only ever let Ray cut his hair and looks forward to seeing him. Which is amazing as he used to hate having his hair cut. If I could give these guys six stars, I would.

Today I went for the constitutional 3 monthly haircut for my unruly mop, at Route 66 Barbers on Wellfield Road, Roath. Ray was the Barber, who I was fortunate enough to be given - What a great bloke - engaging, humorous, and a bloody good barber - he comes well recommended.
Chuffed to bits with the haircut. Thanks.

From Bristol so wasnt sure where to go but tried here and was quick and efficient.. great service highly recommend will be coming back.. offered beverages. Very pleased with the service.. and very sanitary and welcoming

Everyone there was incredibly friendly and provide great service even while waiting for your turn in the chair. My barber, Ray was particularly welcoming and cut my hair exactly as I requested.

I've been going to Route 66 since they first opened and have never been as disappointed as today. I was having my usual skin fade and trim on the top, I asked the barber politely (who I've never seen before) about halfway through if he could cut a little more from the sides. After rolling his eyes and saying something in another language, he reluctantly and quickly cut some more off. But from that point on, he was smirking for the rest of the cut and messed my style up on purpose, which I can only describe made me look like Abraham Lincoln. He then took photos of my hair, presumably to show off to his friends how he messed my hair up because it certainly wasn't a masterpiece I can tell you that for certain. I might request those photos under GDPR so I suggest you have him delete them off his personal phone. I would like an apology as I am a customer of long-standing and I am very upset by the way I was treated today.

Great bunch of boys always greeted with a smile and tea or coffee if wanted. I have always gone to Ray who I have found a first class hairdresser.

Absolutely horrific experience, no communication at all with my young son who went in today for a haircut and has come out with a shaved head. The whole family is traumatised and the barber thought it was hilarious!!

Only constructive feedback for the business is to ask the customer if they have a preference of who cuts their hair. On a few visits, I’ve been immediately guided to an empty barber seat when I have a regular barber who I visit your services to see.

Most customers have a particular way they like their cut and will have a preference of who cuts it. Ask before seating the customer!
