I’ve been coming to this salon for about 4 years and have always been so pleased with the service I have received. The staff who work here are friendly, professional and efficient. I’m always made to feel very welcome and comfortable.
I can highly recommend Luiza, who is one of the best nail technicians I’ve ever had, and I’m very fussy!! I always leave smiling and happy, she knows what I like and even suggests new colours for me to try.
They are competitively priced too and I always feel I get value for money.
I’ve tried many of the nail salons in Watford, but I would never go anywhere else now,

I got my eyebrows shaped and tinted, and my eyelashes tinted here. Also my hair dyed and cut. I found the atmosphere quiet unprofessional and even though I was mostly happy with the results, the experience was not enjoyable. The lady doing my eyebrows put on the tint with her fingers? Never experience that before...no stencil, no brush. Then clearly didn't put an equal amount of eyelash tint on both eyelids as one was burning while the other one was not, I now have one darker than the other. The lady doing my hair was nice, but took another client in while leaving the conditioner in my hair to wash her hair. Then left me with a dripping wet head of hair while she blow dried the other client! What should of taken an hour and half took over 2 hours! They will say I was left with wet hair because I asked for it to be cut as well, but this took about 10 minutes at the very end so is no excuse. I was happy with the way my hair looked but when I got to the car I noticed dye left on the sides of my neck and around my hairline, very embarrassing. To add to this, and the real reason I felt compelled to write this, I washed my hair for the first time since, and more dye was rinsed out! Sorry, not good enough for 119 pounds to still be washing your own dye out a few days later.

Love this place for my nails. Kim is always available to book me last minute appointments and is always happy to fit me in and is always so friendly and helpful!! Luiza is the best nail technician in Watford I would highly recommend her. She is always friendly professional and always recommends new colours and designs for your nails. I would recommend luminate for all your beauty needs 💅🏻💇🏼‍♀️

I used to use this salon but a few months ago I decided never to use them again purely based on my last experience and in particular an appointment with the colourist.

In August 2021 I decided I wanted to try and grow out my greys and no longer colour my hair to hide them. I contacted the salon and advised the lady over the phone that I wanted to potentially transition with some grey or very light highlights to help the process. I was advised they would be able to do this. I asked her if I needed a consultation first since I am aware my hair doesn’t lighten easily but she insisted this wasn’t required.

On arrival to my appointment I was met by what I can only describe as an arrogant and unwelcoming colourist who without even offering a patch test refused to colour my hair. It wasn’t so much that she couldn’t do it but rather the fact that over the phone I was told a consultation wasn’t required which gave me hope and that she seemed completely unwilling do discuss it with me. Not only this, she advised that I shouldn’t go grey because it doesn’t look great in real life! Apparently it’s only filtered pictures which look half decent!

In al honesty at that point I felt absolutely awful and left the salon. It’s taken me a while to be able to sit down and write this review but I felt compelled to do it. I’m not entirely sure why I was made to feel the way I was and why my personal choice about my hair was criticised the way it was but I don’t feel I was treated the way I should have been. I visit another salon now who have been so supportive of my decision and made me look and feel amazing about my hair. That’s the way it should be.

My teenage daughter and her friend went together to get matching nails with a design and received a disgusting service by the nail technician, my daughter received a nasty cut when having cuticles prepared, girls asked for nails to be painted and a design, design came out as splodges of varnish, my daughter now close to tears, requested it to be repainted, was met with a rude and disgruntled response, nail varnish is still smudged and either uneven or missing from parts of the nails, her friend decided to not chance the design. After all this they still got charged full price. I think the girls got taken advantage of. The girls mentioned the receptionist and another member of staff apologised, but the nail technician was just rude and unprofessional.

Update - Thank you for your response, we popped in and the girls were happy you were able to resolve the situation. Thank you very much to the lovely receptionist who dealt with my daughter and I to resolve the complaint.

Absolutely love all the girls that work here. They are all so welcoming and lovely making you feel at home. I will only come here to get my nails done by Luiza, who is absolutely brilliant every single time. CJ also does the best job on my hair and I have booked in ready to sort out that my hair now that lockdown is easing. Great service and time management is always great too. Would highly recommend, they are always able to sort me out when I'm in need!

After my first visit for a pedicure I was over the moon and absolutely loved it! Came back for a re-do and had a huge disappointment! The girl doing the nails used a wrong colour. I questioned the colour at the very start and she assured me that it was the right one. Then at the end of the service she realised too.. The application itself was also not impressive.
When I suggested at the counter that I am not happy and the colour is not right, the cashier just said 'can give you 10% off' which seemed a bit of a joke.

I know mistakes happen, but I was really not impressed the way it was handled. I would have expected the technician to raise this or at least ask if I am okay with it, but nothing.. Nothing to compare with the lady who served me at first.

It's a shame as I hoped I found THE place being new in the area, but seems will have to look for something else.

Had my lashes done on a friday at 1pm and had none left on the Sunday by 5pm. I asked for Russian volume and just about had classics…
As a lash technician myself- which I even told the girl doing my lashes. I was absolutely gobsmacked that a salon can even charge a huge amount for what was classed as lashes.
They were all over the place, not isolated properly and not applied correctly.
£65 for nothing.
Had to lay and wait for the girl to get everything ready, and then her glue wasn’t coming out of the nozzle.
At the end of the treatment she told me to open my eyes and I had a sticky lash to my bottom lashes ( I know this happens) and she just pulled it out”ouch”
And so much for the salon following covid procedure, not a face mask in site for any worker.

No I was not walking back to my car at all. I was in my car already 5mins from home and no the “lash technician “ didn’t ask if I wanted more applied.
Can a full set of Russians really be applied in an hour?! No they can’t.
