I can highly recommend Luiza, who is one of the best nail technicians I’ve ever had, and I’m very fussy!! I always leave smiling and happy, she knows what I like and even suggests new colours for me to try.
They are competitively priced too and I always feel I get value for money.
I’ve tried many of the nail salons in Watford, but I would never go anywhere else now,
In August 2021 I decided I wanted to try and grow out my greys and no longer colour my hair to hide them. I contacted the salon and advised the lady over the phone that I wanted to potentially transition with some grey or very light highlights to help the process. I was advised they would be able to do this. I asked her if I needed a consultation first since I am aware my hair doesn’t lighten easily but she insisted this wasn’t required.
On arrival to my appointment I was met by what I can only describe as an arrogant and unwelcoming colourist who without even offering a patch test refused to colour my hair. It wasn’t so much that she couldn’t do it but rather the fact that over the phone I was told a consultation wasn’t required which gave me hope and that she seemed completely unwilling do discuss it with me. Not only this, she advised that I shouldn’t go grey because it doesn’t look great in real life! Apparently it’s only filtered pictures which look half decent!
In al honesty at that point I felt absolutely awful and left the salon. It’s taken me a while to be able to sit down and write this review but I felt compelled to do it. I’m not entirely sure why I was made to feel the way I was and why my personal choice about my hair was criticised the way it was but I don’t feel I was treated the way I should have been. I visit another salon now who have been so supportive of my decision and made me look and feel amazing about my hair. That’s the way it should be.
Update - Thank you for your response, we popped in and the girls were happy you were able to resolve the situation. Thank you very much to the lovely receptionist who dealt with my daughter and I to resolve the complaint.
When I suggested at the counter that I am not happy and the colour is not right, the cashier just said 'can give you 10% off' which seemed a bit of a joke.
I know mistakes happen, but I was really not impressed the way it was handled. I would have expected the technician to raise this or at least ask if I am okay with it, but nothing.. Nothing to compare with the lady who served me at first.
It's a shame as I hoped I found THE place being new in the area, but seems will have to look for something else.
As a lash technician myself- which I even told the girl doing my lashes. I was absolutely gobsmacked that a salon can even charge a huge amount for what was classed as lashes.
They were all over the place, not isolated properly and not applied correctly.
£65 for nothing.
Had to lay and wait for the girl to get everything ready, and then her glue wasn’t coming out of the nozzle.
At the end of the treatment she told me to open my eyes and I had a sticky lash to my bottom lashes ( I know this happens) and she just pulled it out”ouch”
And so much for the salon following covid procedure, not a face mask in site for any worker.
No I was not walking back to my car at all. I was in my car already 5mins from home and no the “lash technician “ didn’t ask if I wanted more applied.
Can a full set of Russians really be applied in an hour?! No they can’t.
