The acrylics look alright, but I'd be lucky to get them to last for two weeks. Not even in terms of chipping, but the nails lift so badly and are literally falling off by this point.

Also, last time I went my nails were completely done by this guy who wasn't wearing any gloves and was handling my skin, only to see him being treated in the back for warts with that kit from the pharmacy. Absolutely disgusting and I'm surprised to never have caught an infection.

I went to venus on Saturday to get myself pampered as i was going out later that night (for the first time in over a year) I had left over gels that were barley there and of course i got charged for that too ( they filed off the gel and scrapped my nail so hard and roughly it hurt) Disgraceful, I'm a nail technician myself and at a much higher level than them, however I still went there because for once it would have been nice for someone else other than myself to do my nails and feet. So after sitting there cringing at how this man was taking my gels off, he started on my acrylics - Thumb nail was so so wonky he looked at it and when i went to look myself he got annoyed and wouldn't let go off my hand, before you know it he gets out the acetone and practically melts the plastic into my real nail and files it down so he could put another on top. After sticking on all the nails he cuts them down and starts to put the acrylic over them- He rushed this so so much that every nail has lumps in and are so bad its a joke- i would have felt so embarrassed if that was my work lets put it that way. The more i saw how bad my nails were looking the more i asked him to file them to make them even at least ( I'm too much of a push over ) I should have made a scene it might have gotten me somewhere. Also I had a big chunk of dried glue stuck under my thumb nail that he had two attempts with. The glue was stuck to my skin so i couldn't separate my skin from the fake nail, he then saw me trying to do that and joined in and basically got his sharp nail under my nail and cut my finger open? Because he was just so rough!!! My pedicure was OK, the only reason i went to the salon was to get my dry skin taken off, I'm still here with it all on my feet still because nobody knows what they're doing- they don't have any training, they get trained at work by people that barely know what they're doing so imagine what the trainees are like. At the end i paid £80 for that whole ordeal - worst experience of my life- blood boiling anger because of the lack of respect for customers- we keep you open, without us idiots wasting money in your pop up nail shop (because its a joke) you are able to stay a float in Guildford. I hope a real nail parlour opens in Guildford soon, that isn't over priced, or rude. Anyway lastly when it came to complaining, i was given £10 pounds back to not post a bad review/ or else i could have had my money back and he would have to take my nails off- with a painful cut under my thumb- there was no way i was soaking my nails off in acetone. I'm Disgusted and so so angry with this place ( AVOID AT ALL COSTS).

I kept giving this nail bar the benefit of the doubt after several bad experiences there, but at the same time, a few times I have been have been OK and it's also because of the convenience of it being so close to where I work.

But after the last time, I won't be going ever again. I asked for acrylic infills and they asked what shape I would like and I asked for the same as I already had (short & square). I'm reading a magazine and when I checked my nails whilst he was doing the second hand, he's made the shape what I can only describe as coffins!

I asked why he has done this as he knew the shape I wanted and he shouted across to his colleagues saying god only knows and continued, he was really rough with my hands and decided to add bits of acrylic to the area he had filed away which kept breaking off and filed them to shapes even worse than before. All were uneven, some were thicker, some were shorter and one nail was pointing to the right, completely wonky. I wish I had taken a photo, I can't even explain them!

When I said I wasn't happy, a woman took me to another table and tried to fix them and I had to start all over again.

I appreciate her help but I didn't get one single apology and was dismissed completely. I was charged full price and left with my nails looking OK but were completely rushed as the queue was really busy and they wanted to get me out.

I won't be going back.

I visited Venus Nail Salon today after my last visit, which was in March (due to lockdown I was unable to visit/they were closed). I got a pedicure and manicure and I am so pleased with the results. The owner has changed the salon to make it safer and all the staff are wearing masks as well as the customers. There is hand sanitiser readily available and I was asked to fill in a form regarding track and trace which also made me feel more comfortable too. There are plastic screens throughout the salon for everyone's safety.
I was very comfortable the entire time and so was my daughter who also got a pedicure and a manicure too. The door was open and there was a nice flow of air throughout. If you were previously hesitant to go back to get your nails done, I personally would assure you that you don't need to worry, everything is hygienic and clean and measures have been taken for your safety as well as the staffs safety too.

would not recommend for acrylic nails. i showed a very clear picture of what i wanted. had to attempt to do a simple white line on my nail 3 times before getting it right. cut me on two of my fingers. £42 for very short nails with simple design. would not go here

Had a pedicure, the lady pulled a bit of my big toe skin off even though I made it clear she was hurting me. 2 weeks later and I've been given antibiotics for an incredibly infected toe and I am unable to walk or bend my toe. Agonising pain. Pretty sure she not only cut too deep into my toe, but also used dirty tools.

Jennifer did my acrylic infills today and did a fantastic job, she listened to what I wanted and was very efficient and professional. I'm very happy with the length, shape and colour, and have rebooked for before Christmas 🎄 😀 I recommend over the other guildford nail bars 💅👌
