Tl:dr - -

Overall, I had my legs waxed. The product itself was as to be expected, if not very rushed. I personally have a lot of ingrown hairs so there are some hairs left on my legs, but there are a few patches where she didn't go over with more wax. I got £25 worth of a waxing session. For a salon in the middle of town, it was decent. But don't go if its your first session, you want a relaxing, good session, go elsewhere.

Long review:

This was an interesting experience. I'm not a regular waxer and haven't had the time to find a decent salon in Oxford that isn't several bus rides away. The salon looks decent, generally. No hair on the floor, bins for nails and strips etc.. But it is very clearly understaffed, the few staff they have don't answer the phone until someone shouts out "phone please".
The 'room' (if you can call it that) is very small and dinghy. A small sliding door gives the illusion of privacy yet there is a mirror exactly placed so the person on the other side of the door can see the person on the bed. The bed is potentially dangerous for a obese person. Doesn't feel very stable.
In reference to my beginning statement, I would not recommend this place for someone looking for their first wax. It will turn you off. Go somewhere that has designated rooms where the worker can walk around you and doesn't lean right over your thighs to do a bikini wax.
I've had my legs and bikini line waxed before and know what to do afterwards and how to clean up the leftover wax (on my bikini line which now really hurts!!!)
The aftercare is non existent - I had a "done! Thank you bye!" as the alert that she'd done. She didn't utter a word throughout the sessions except to talk to other members of staff through a door no thicker than a hand.

It was a wax. Nothing amazing but not horrible. I've had better but I'm sure there's been worse done.

Got a full set of acrylics and absolutely love them. Selma was so lovely and professional, did such a great job. Exactly the shape and colour I wanted, and had so much fun in the salon. Everyone was friendly and helpful and Strand is clean and well-presented. I booked the appointment the day before and came slightly late, but they were flexible and welcoming and it wasn't a problem. Selma even gave me diamante on my ring finger as a birthday present! Would absolutely recommend Strand nails.

Terrible experience at Strand. They were very rough with the pedicure, scraping my feet when they were dry with an abrasive scrub, and cutting my skin around the cuticles. Multiple times I got burned by the electric filer and my toe started to bleed. The overall experience was painful and far from a relaxing pedicure experience. In the end I was made to pay the full 45 pounds (even though my feet were bleeding and painful). The pedicure was not worth the price at all and the workers/owner were rude and aggressive. Really unhappy with Strand and will not return and would not recommend!

Booked a hair cut and colour online for 9:30am, only to find out the place didn't open until 10am. Once I had travelled into Oxford I was then told that the person who does hair colour wasn't even working that day. Absolutely awful experience!

The hair stylist was AWFUL😱😱😱 !!!! She kept on chatting and laughing with everyone in the store, even the passerby! She only paid like 20% of her attention on my hair, the rest of the time she just looked at someone else when she talked to then and let the scissor go freely in her hand🤯. I could not stop myself from asking her: ' Why you did not even look at my hair when you cut it?' She said something like: ' Oh, I do not need to look at it, I know where it goes.' (I could not remember the exact phrasing, but it something of the same meaning) DO YOU THINK THAT MAKE SENSE!!!!! The result of my hair is within expectations - a complete disaster! I can ensure that I was MUCH MUCH MUCH more focused and careful when I was doing the hair for barbie doll at the age of 6! And probably my work is about the same standard of this hair stylist. I am not saying I wish her to be 100% focused without saying a single word to anyone else, but at least she needs to look at my hair and pay some noticeable attention when she cut it right???!!! Therefore, anyone who cares about her/his own hair and have a kind heart🥰 should NOT go to Strand since it would disturb this lady's happy afternoon party with her friends. I can guarantee that every word of my statement is true, she only looked at my hair for like one or two instants before every large bunch of hair was cut off from my head. Can you imagine how scary it is?????? Every second I sit on that chair would become a source of nightmare for the rest my life.

Have just had a wonderful experience at Strand, Sally did my hair and after discussing what I wanted gave me the best hair cut I have had in years, she was friendly and very talented, Celina did my eyebrow thread and tint aswel as a manicure, she was lovely and always checked I was happy before moving on, I have not been before but will certainly make this my first choice from now on!!

Went to get my eye lashes tinted, and ended up with massive panda eyes, as the lady somehow managed to tint my peach fuzz all under my eyes and down to my cheek bone , definitely will not be going back .. especially now I've had to shave my face to get rid of the black dyed fuzz

I've always come here to have my eyebrows threaded and tinted and have used Strand for at least the last five years. They always do an excellent job, would definitely recommend. I always see Celina and she's Brilliant. She always double checks everything is as I want and is meticulous with detail. 👍🏻
