We wandered into town on a foggy, chilly night a few weeks ago with no reservation and David found us a room in short order, fantastic!. The refurb they've done is tremendous, hoping to get back to see the outside area done. Staff was great, room was great - thank you David and Maureen for the warm hospitality (and the canvas bag!!). Good luck with everything.

An amazing place for a drink and/or a meal, and also Bed and Breakfast is available as well. The owners were absolutely warming, friendly and amazing during our overnight stay, and very accommodating to ours and other guests needs. They arranged our taxis to the wedding venue we was going to and we also saw them help other guests checking on various tourist attractions and opening times for them.

The bar itself has a very friendly atmosphere for all ages and a good selection of ales, wines and spirits on offer!

The accommodation was amazing where we stayed in and was recently refurbished to a very high standard, with good use of space for such cosy rooms. The rooms were amazingly clean and tidy, with very comfy beds.

The breakfast was to die for! Having a full English breakfast, everything was fresh and they even had homemade jams on offer (the blueberry jam is probably the best I've ever had!)

I would highly recommend this place to anyone and a big massive thank you to the owners for helping us have such an amazing stay!

I must say that the food was very nice, came very quick and the waitress was attentive. The bar lady however was of a different level. She knew her stuff and drinks were flowing left right and center. Very nice. I Will definitely go again

Coming to the end of a lovely canal boat holiday and wanted some proper local pub food .
Moored up over night at Whitchurch and headed for the town center and came across the Wheatsheaf
Excellent friendly service brought our dogs a fresh bowl of water while
we chose our meals .
My advice is don’t have a big lunch if you plan to go to the wheatsheaf for evening meal the portions are large and the quality is a very high standard
Well done

Beautiful Sunday dinner in the Wheat Sheaf Hotel in Whitchurch today. Delicious, hot tasty and plentiful. I had the Turkey dinner and my husband had the beef, looked gorgeous.
Felt safe and comfortable to eat out in lovely clean surroundings, all areas clearly marked and good social distancing observed during visit. Friendly helpful staff, great customer service. A big well done to the management and the team. XX

Decided to take advantage of the eat out to help out offer with my family. Starters were ok but very little choice and overpriced for what we got. Regarding the mains, one of us had a burger which was over cooked and bland. Another had the pie which was tasty but very dry. Had to ask for gravy. I had a steak which was quite tasty but more like well done rather than medium which I had asked for. The menu stated the meals were served with triple cooked chips, but they looked and tasted like oven chips to us. COVID measures ok except the servers do not wear masks or visors and they re-use paper menus. I’m sure they are trying their best under difficult circumstances but I would not recommend this venue to anyone at the moment. If I had paid the full price for our meal I would have been very disappointed.

Not the best Sunday lunch I've ever had. Beef was tough and not hot.
Attentive waitress, she was very kind, never disturbing her colleague who was sat down talking and doing nothing.

We went to 180 Club downstairs in the Rectory for my friend's stag do - we had a good time but I'd say the place was just ok 😕 the staff were really friendly, for the whole time we were there and the majority of us had a bash on the darts and had fun with that... But I can't say I was that impressed with the food - the buttermilk chicken was dry, not succulent at all... And the calamari wasn't great either, crunchy and pretty tasteless aside from the mayo and lemon it came with. Their chicken wings were also pretty bland... The first rum cocktail I was made wasn't saying much and the bartender was making me something "special" rate the attempt, but execution wasn't there. Then the other bartender who may have been new, brought me an IPA instead of a cider and was trying to convince me what I was drinking was not in fact an ale? 😕 He messed up our food order and also our bill at the end... Just all a bit underwhelming as an overall experience but I'd recommend people trying it out as it's a nice looking bar in a cool part of town with friendly staff 🙂
