Easy to find the hotel is beautiful and set in lovely ground. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough for you. The rooms are massive with a huge bathroom with bath and shower. We'll worth a visit. Very quiet setting even with the peacocks.
Will definitely go back wish we had booked more time at this hotel instead of moving on.

Loved it! Spacious rooms with jacuzzi jet bath. Super friendly and helpful staff. Lots of different animals on site.
Only minor issue is the green light from what I presume was the emergency exit light in the room which does illuminate things.

An impressive building in a lovely location, providing a good base to explore the beautiful Lake District. The hotel service itself is a little 'Fawlty Towers' though. Our stay was pleasant enough, but the rooms are fairly basic and tired in need of refreshing the decor and bathrooms. We lost count of the gaffs made by the staff - all very nice friendly people - just hampered by what seemed to be poor training, administration, management support, & a huge lack of communication between each other and knowledge of how to do basic things in a hotel. Each issue was minor in itself for the most part, but mounting up over just a couple of days made for a bit of an exasperating experience overall... from silly things like seating us in a lovely bay window for dinner in the restaurant, then witnessing the frustration of another couple arriving to find that they had reserved the table and that it had been given to us......... taking three attempts to get our breakfast order correct......... and routinely not having enough stock of items on the menu. But the last straw was unfortunately more serious... on checking out at the end of our stay the receptionist made an error and overcharged my card, and when I pointed it out I was invited to 'call back later on today or tomorrow when the manager was around', because the receptionist who made the error had not been trained to process a refund. We will visit the lakes again as it is so pleasant, but will not be tempted to stay at Irton Hall again.

We found this hotel on a last min booking. What a find. The location, the staff we interacted with, the food we ate, the animals... cannot fault anything. Wish we had booked for 2 nights. We took our bikes and went cycling, beautiful area. Didnt book in till 4 but happy for us to be parked up there till we returned from cycling and booked in. Excellent service, have recommended already to friends. We will be returning

Initially checked into a cottage but due to a leak we were moved onto a stunning suite. Jamie couldn't do enough for us. Fish n Chips amazing and brekkei set us up for the day. Thank you Jamie, you are a credit to the hotel and we will be back. Fabulous!

Absolutely loved it here. We were all on a stag weekend and after being paintballing we drove here.. staying in Pele suite it had numerous levels Inc spacious living room and plenty of bedrooms for everyone.. even a bedroom up in a tower got to with a stone staircase which we called the Harry Potter Wing.. kitchen was huge with plenty of space for us all and a pool table with seating area.. place had a bar and served food but was reserved.. grounds were huge plenty of woods and if you're into red squirrel spotting this be your bag.. we hope we didn't make to much noise but we all enjoyed our stay

Lovely buildings surounded by a park and the countryside, great for walks. I really loved being greeted by the free roaming friendly young cat, geese, pheasant, and hens/Cockerell. Very refreshing after long trip or day at work. The bed is very comfy and I slept superbly well (that's my second visit), the rooms are spacious, clean and have everything needed, and big windows.
The breakfast is outstanding, It looks like a small offering at first, but it's got everything you'd possibly want, with beautiful quality. The cooked breakfast and the pastry are exceptional. Also, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the pub, restaurant, and breakfast area are very pleasant.
It's a beautiful old farm complex, great place for easy access walks at the end of the day - and the cat will come along with you..

Where do I start......when you get to Irton hall your greeted by the wildlife, like peacocks,chickens..... extremely friendly cats......one of them escorted me around the grounds.....I have to give a mention to the three ply tissue...takes me back to the days, I was maitre de hotel in Scotts restaurant, when the general manager wanted to cut corners ,and downgrade the toilet tissue...I had to put my foot down, and said that sets a standard above the rest need I say more...
Now for the staff, for me the one who stood out amongst all three members was Jamie....the man couldn't do enough...their I was thinking vegan, might be a bad word here, unlike the previous place,he was able to present a menu, with a vegan option( to be honest it wasn't that special). I had my mushroom rice risotto on hold ,but thought it might be worth it.i have lost count how many times he said ,we hope this won't be your first ,and last visit..I had to give this man full marks.......TO THE MANAGEMENT....TAKE A Page OUT OF THIS MANS BOOKS.....START DOING COCKTAILS....... ESPECIALLY AT WEDDINGS....GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT....

If I was to be super critical the only thing this place is missing is a well being centre ,whereby you can get massages, sauna,yoga...etc etc...other than that very reasonable priced... excellent location...very clean
