The Rectory Suffolk

We absolutely LOVED every minute of our stay at The Rectory. Michael and John are wonderful hosts and go above and beyond in terms of service. They have thought of everything to create a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable stay: this is really a boutique hotel, rather than a B&B. To name a few of many highlights: stylish decor (we had the Deco Suite), sumptuous bed and bedding, delicious home made biscuits and locally sourced high quality breakfast including a vast array of home made jams and incredible service throughout. I hesitate in writing this as I know it will encourage other guests to discover this hidden gem and I want to ensure it's available next time I want to return! Thank you so much, we will be back!

We had the most amazing stay at The Rectory and cannot recommend it enough. The attention to detail is outstanding-our room was absolutely immaculate and we were served delicious drinks and homemade shortbread whenever we asked or returned from being out! The house itself is stunning and the outdoor pool was so refreshing after warm sunny walks in the local area. There is also a choice of lounges downstairs for guests to use to relax or watch television. Breakfast was delicious and there was a wide variety of choice from local produce to homemade jams! Thank you John and Michael for wonderful stay-we will be back!

Wow! This place exceeded our expectations in every way. Gorgeous Deco suite with THE most incredible bathroom. Lovely spaces for guests to use, inside and out. Gourmet breakfast with brilliant home cooking. And hosts who ensure that you have an extraordinary stay. Don't hesitate to book to stay with John and Michael at The Rectory. You won't regret it!

A short review just can't do justice to the Rectory. John and Michael couldn't be more welcoming or accommodating - they've clearly set out to create the best experience in a wonderful location and their attention to detail is second to none. The homemade biscuits and local apple juice alone are worth the visit.

Their local knowledge of places to eat and visit is excellent, breakfasts are superb no-matter your choice or dietary requirement, and it seems like nothing would be too much trouble.

Seemingly always on hand but never intrusive, they have a beautiful house, gardens and rooms they share, with guest lounges as well as rooms.

At some places having the pool would be a selling point - here it is just the cherry on an already delicious cake.

Don't hesitate to book - you won't regret it - already wondering about when we can book again.

Cannot recommend this beautiful place more highly. John and Michael made us feel so welcome. It was like staying with friends who spoil you rotton. Homemade lemon shortbread, delicious bespoke breakfasts, gorgeous grounds and a perfect sized pool. We will definitely be back again. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time at The Rectory! Myself, mum, aunty and cousin went for a relaxing weekend break and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay. Breakfast was beautiful, our rooms were so comfortable, clean and stylish and John and Micheal were excellent, friendly hosts. The pool and gardens were a real treat, especially as the sun shon all weekend! Easy to get to Bury and all the other beautiful towns and villages locally too. We’ll be back! Thank you.
