Honey Dear is a beautiful little three-story mid terrace town house just outside the main shopping street of Chester, we stayed here in November 2019. The house is tastefully decorated with a mix of modern and old-fashioned furniture. The house was warm and cosy and very clean, and Suzi & Debbie had left a welcoming basket with some milk, wine, crisps and mince pies, all very appreciated.
The house has a slightly quirky layout typical of the age, expect some low ceilings in places and irregular stairs. These are likely original features and add to the town house feel. The top bedroom is accessed from stairs leading out of the middle floor bedroom, and the large bathroom is on the middle floor too.
The Kitchen is ideal for the property, it’s got a fridge, oven, hob, kettle and microwave and enough cutlery and crockery to see you through. As the entrance is straight from the street into the lounge, there is a little bit of noise from people walking past, but because the road is not a main one, this is very infrequent and we didn’t find it a problem at all, it certainly is not loud. There is a pub/bar a few houses along and again we didn’t really notice much noise from there.
The main shopping streets for Chester are a few minutes’ walk away, and the race course is just as close. This really is ideally placed for a visit to Chester.
We were unable to park outside when we arrived, so parked in the Cuppin Street Car Park while we unloaded, this is just a minute walk down the road. We then moved our car to the Delamere Street Car Park on the other side of town. This is a locked 24h car park we found not very expensive and easy to get to while shopping. It’s only a 10 minute walk from that car park back to Honey Dear. There are other car parks closer so check what’s available before you arrive.
We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay in Honey Dear and will definitely be coming back to stay next time we are in Chester.
