A proper, genuine B&B. Excellent service, simple but smart rooms with stunning views of the sunset! The owner was incredibly polite and a true Welshman. He even spotted that a didn't like mushrooms so the next day replaced them with a hash brown. Thoroughly recommend this place as you are able to come and go as you like and priced well, cheaper than a travel lodge and better service!

John was an excellent host and a great cook! I enjoyed the hospitality, breakfast, and comfort of staying at Yr Hafod. The best part was the ocean view from my room!

Absolute gem, in every way you could imagine. The owner (John) is a wonderful host; funny, kind, helpful, and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble :)

The rooms are wonderfully well-fitted and absolutely spotless. The bed was super soft, the bathroom was absolutely gorgeous, breakfast both filling and delicious, and the location was jaw dropping.

There was also a lovely common room with games, jigsaws, and a huge TV to relax in the evenings. Me and my partner spent most evenings working on one of the jigsaws and discovering Midsommer Murders.

I even managed to spot some dolphins at breakfast on the last day. Looking forward to staying again next holiday.

This place was fabulous! The host John was so nice and accommodating. They make you a big welsh breakfast in the morning and truly make you feel at home. The town is adorable and this place is right on the beach front. You walk out the front door and you are looking directly at the water/beach. I would recommend this place to anyone going to aberystwyth! Such a hidden gem!

My husband and I stayed in the suite, which had been newly refurbished. The room could not have been cleaner or more comfortable, and the location is right on the seafront. John was an excellent and amusing host. The price was also very reasonable for the quality.

Top notch - we had a room overlooking the beach. Good breakfast - perfect fried egg!

Wonderful guest house on the seafront, the room I stayed in was nicely laid out with tea and coffee making facilities.
John is a marvellous host, happy to chat and have a laugh.
The breakfast was enough to set me up for the day.
Hope to be able to stay here again.

The room was lovely and large, the curtains thick enough to block out the light and the bedding comfortable to sleep on. The en-suite was nicely decorated and the shower, whilst maintaining about as much pressure as the Welsh backline, was more than adequate 😆 the location is perfect, overlooking the sea and a short walk from the pier, town centre and harbour, plus having a castle on the doorstep, a sightseers dream...but what really makes this a 5 star stay is the host. John is wonderfully friendly and helpful without the pushy noseyness of some landlords/landladies. He makes a wonderful breakfast (and even managed to accommodate an early morning continental on our early-start day) and seems to work tirelessly around the building all day. He certainly sets himself much higher standards than some other local establishments...In fact I was inclined to give him a rating of perfect host until I saw his WiFi password (you'll see when you stay). I would highly recommend a stay here any time (other than when we stay again as I want a room to be available) 😂
