Oldfield Forge

What an incredible experience! Health and safety yes but you’re able to do everything, we used the oxyacetylene torch as well as the furnace to make a rose/peony. Can not recommend this experience enough. Hammered texture onto petals by forging them and then hammering. Forged a strip of steel into a long twisted stem, hammered and welded the petals onto the stem then torched them to twist them into shape. Guided yet independent, thank you so much for such an incredible experience!

Oldfield Forge was bloody brilliant!! I had a great day helping my Son make a sword for his wedding. The chaps at the forge were absolutely wonderful and so knowledgeable. They were very personable and really seemed to enjoy helping people have the best experience they could. I was one of a party of eleven and every one of us said we would recommend a day here to anyone. Thank you so much for giving us such a special day!!

Outstanding place!
The wife and I went to make a knife, just for fun of course and we had a superb day. The instructors are calm, knowledgeable and friendly, and are always on hand to help out with any minor problems and answer any questions, no matter how daft they sound.
Big shout out for Madison (one d) ;-D. Great sense of humour, informative and an easy person to trust, even around red hot, stabby things.
I would recommend a day here to everybody who wants an unusual and memorable experience.

Great day today on our couples experience day. I made a rose and my husband made a dragonfly. We were under the watchful eye and guidance of Luke who was browny, as we're the rest of the team! Brilliant experience, hard work but so worth it! We are really pleased with our handiwork and had such fun making them! Highly recommend. Can also recommend The Harewood End Inn to stay at if travelling, as close to Forge and very welcoming!

Really enjoyed our visit to Oldfield Forge for my brother's stag do. Great experience day that I'd highly recommend and with something cool to take home at the end of the day. Staff were fantastic and made for a really enjoyable day.

Fantastic experience. My wife and I made a Longsword over two afternoon sessions.

It was hot and hard work. Plenty of hammering metal in to shape.

Ben, Josh, Luke and the rest of the Blacksmiths guide you throughout the process and help out when things go wrong.

Excellent health and safety brief at the start. Hilarious but essential.

Great little shop and picnic area on site.

An excellent day at Old field Forge, I was doing the one day knife making course but they do lots of course for many items. The instructors were friendly and very helpful. At the start of the day we all had a safety briefing and throughout the day we had additional safety briefings as we were using different tools. I would recommend and I will be going back.

A huge thank you to Bob, Will, Sam and Theo for their extensive help in making us just about the coolest sword possible for my partners birthday. We had tons of fun, learnt a lot and have an incredible keepsake forever now. 1000% recommend coming here!
