Employees are very educated and taught us so much about bindings. Very well rounded store. We were at Shakespeare and co. and were told to stop in here while visiting london.
We weren't disappointed :)

Glorious bookshop with a plethora of unique, thoughtfully selected books. The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. Looking forward to ordering from them online (the downside to living in Aus!)!

I live in the U.S. so visiting this bookshop is difficult! I purchase their yearly subscriptions to books and am always delighted in the choices I receive! Thanks Heywood Hill for giving me a little bit of England!

Heywood Hill is a bookshop at 10 Curzon Street in the Mayfair district of London. The shop was opened by George Heywood Hill on 3 August 1936, with the help of Lady Anne Gathorne-Hardy, who would later become his wife.

For the last three years of the Second World War, while George Heywood Hill was in the Army, Lady Anne ran the shop with the assistance of the novelist Nancy Mitford. In 1991, the shop was bought by Nancy Mitford's brother-in-law, Andrew Cavendish, 11th Duke of Devonshire.

As of 2016, the store is owned by Peregrine Cavendish, 12th Duke of Devonshire, and has been managed by his son-in-law, Nicky Dunne since 2011. The store specialises in rare books and collections of books, and has a service of assembling and delivering bespoke libraries for customers.

Love this bookshop in London!! It is the best. My favourite. I used to work right next door in the offices at 7 Curzon St. This was always my neigbourhood when in London. I bought a few books at Heywood Hill Ltd. and especially the ones by Nancy Mitford who worked there in the 1940s. Lovely bookshop and very polite and helpful staff. Louisa was very kind and set aside a book for me that is being brought back to Buenos Aires this weekend.

A fantastic book shop offering first class customer service. Louisa helped me organise some author signed books which were then dispatched to Canada. All from my desk in Cheshire! I cant wait to pay them a visit when I'm next in town.

Very niche book house. Some really lovely old books here. This is for selective readers only.
