One of the best places in London where you will find almost everything related to Islam and Muslim faith. Besides, they also provide basic teaching of Islam and related advice. Location is very convenient too; close to Tooting Broadway tube station. Bought few books during my last visit. They renovated recently and the collection increased since then I guess. Recommended

Great family run Islamic bookshop. The largest collection of Muslim books outside Central London. Useful for anyone studying Islamic Studies. Staff are polite and knowledgeable.

I visited the store (31/03/2022) to pick up an abaya for my 5 year old daughter who had an Islamic event at her school and all kids will be wearing thobes/hijab abaya etc. As soon as I entered with my children and mother I felt an sharpness in the lady’s tone asking if I needed assistance (who was working in the store that day, she had a young assistant with her who was quiet and just sorting things around the store). I have been to this store many times and witnessed the owner of the shops daughters being very sharp and abrupt. The owner himself is a very kind and respectful man who always shows happiness and is ever so helpful. On this specific day I actually told the lady at the till in no offence, but she is coming accross very abrupt and sharp and I’m unaware if she’s aware at all how she comes accross to her paying customers. She explained people keep asking for discounts and earn more than she does etc so she’s just the way she is. She went on to explain she ‘wasn’t just being mean to me she’s just mean to everybody’ because of her daily issues that arises with customers at the store. As business owners we require thick skin and a little patience. I did not ask for a discount and did not even have an atom of intention to ask for a discount as I was in a rush for an abaya for the following day. Lebas is right next door not one day have I had an issue there, but as my mother always goes to this store and spends her money every occasion there, I also have a habit of this. I never leave bad reviews or negative comments but this is one that needs to be addressed no one likes to feel pushy when shopping or looking for something or rushed. No one enjoys sharpness or abrupt behaviour or hand gestures. In many shops people do still ask for discounts unless it’s a registered branded store like tkmaxx H&M primark etc even then I’m sure they would push if they see a little damage to get a few pence off. The items are priced high already compared to lebas or Whitechapel and usually when people come in to buy they don’t ask for a discount unless they are buying a few things. When we come to your store regardless of your prices it’s because sometimes it’s just familiarity. The sweets should not be infront of the tills where a three year old can reach Ofcourse if sweets are presented infront of children they will touch, the lady abruptly said ‘can you not let your child squeeze the sweets thank you’ like I stood there and cheered my children to touch their sweet cones. In this indicident she did not squeeze them just touched it to see what is inside the packets. Kids will be kids.
