I believe there's three floors of books. Was looking for a book on African history and a bit disappointed that 4-5 shelves of books on world history only had 3 books (seriously 3 books. Lol.....) on Africa. But the other sections were bursting. Also an entire floor dedicated to children's books on the ground floor. Staff are not in your face following you around and asking questions all the time - loved the privacy to explore and take my time without interruptions.

When I could not find a book I was looking for, a staff member helped me find it immediately. The staff is always friendly. A lot of items are overpriced, but I do love the atmosphere here, especially upstairs. Could do with more seating areas.

There are few pleasures in life which match the appeal of a quiet comfortable place, well stocked with books.

However, in the event of a zombie apocalypse, book stores are the last place you'd choose to reside in; too many entrances, no access to food or water etc. An enterprising group of survivors could perhaps set themselves up as purveyors or toilet paper (young adult fiction and the various right-wing rags being passed off as newspapers)... Or guardians of the future of our civilisation's written knowledge. But you'd be better off in an isolated farmhouse somewhere.

Great store. Like most Waterstones it is well laid out and an extremely well kept retail premise (a rarity these days on our otherwise tatty high streets). I visit several times a month and my daughter loves it.

Waterstones in my opinion are the best book retailer on the High Street. There's a huge selection of interesting books to meet all tastes and the kids section will keep them amused for hours if given the chance. The staff are well informed and always keen to help you or the younger members of your family find exactly what they're looking for with a warm friendly smile.

I'll be honest, I'm partially dyslexic aswell as a notorious skim reader who searches for the pictures and reads about 10% of any book i buy which is sad really. That being said, every year i visit this store to buy my little sister and mum a few for their collections. I usually enter with 0 idea of what i want and always leave with the perfect gift. To be completely honest, if i could borrow some of your staff to organise my life i think the world would move alot smoother but that's another story ( i probably won't read ).

Good selection and well laid out to help people who browse and don't really know what they want!
Standard Waterstones pricing so can be a bit more than other places.
