Simply an excellent place to be- if you enjoy books and people who know about books. Not sure who enjoys our visits more, my children or I.
Long may these brave undertakings in the day of single breasted book delivery survive. And if not it is our failing. So don't shead tears just go and buy your books here.

Such a lovely bookstore! I’ve started my London book store tour to promote independent bookstores to wide community (especially ethnic minority group) so everybody could know where to get a good paper print in your neighbourhood in this digital world. They provide a table and chairs downstairs so I assume you could have a cuppa while browsing books? The children session is pretty cute! Highly recommend!

A beautiful store which was an absolute delight to visit. Lutyens & Rubinstein is an excellent example of why it's so important to champion and support independent business, particularly booksellers.

A brilliant book shop in the heart of Notting Hill. I always visit when I am in the area. It is quaint, peaceful, quiet and has an excellent collection to browse. The staff is very kind and cooperative. Keep up the good work :)

Bougie and cold. The white lady behind the counter treated me like I was invisible though I smiled and said hi as I walked in.

This would be okay except she said hi to the white lady who came in right behind me, but then ignored the ethnic mom and little boy after her.

(Though the other staff -- younger people seemed sweet).

I wanted to buy some things, but decided my money would be spent better elsewhere

Go to the Notting Hill Bookstore close by, a much warmer and easier experience and you don't have to have an existential crisis about whether it's you or your personality that got you the cold shoulder.
