Crofton Books in Brockley

For me, this is empirically the best second hand bookshop in London. I moved to London four months ago and - as a serious bookworm - have visited all 2nd hand bookshops in the city. CB was the last one (due to distance from home), but it is also the one I made more purchases at that any other, both fiction in multiple genres and non-fiction in various topics. Nowhere else has had so much I wanted to read. While that is just me, they have such a large and varied selection over two floors that I'm sure it will be true for lots of other people. Can't recommend highly enough.

Quality in every aspect. Especially the range of books and service offered. Jason and his colleagues are a testament to the book trade. Lucky to live close to such a fine establishment.

I absolutely love this bookshop! The staff was so knowledgeable. The man who helped me offered valuable insight and recommended several books similar to what I was looking for and offered to text me when the title I ordered was in. Just excellent!

A real, old fashioned, bookshop. Very well organized, by genre and then alphabetically.
The owner is friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable.
It's a little awkward to manoeuvre around, as it is very packed, and there were boxes everywhere.
Downstairs, down a steep staircase, you find a good children's department, Young Adults Department, Science Fiction and Fantasy, and several others.
The owner is happy to look for books for you, if he doesn't have them.
A nice place to browse.

One of the better second hand book stores in London. Excellent selection of classics.

Easily my favourite secondhand bookstore in London—the selection of books is so well-curated, with the shelves of Black authors the first place I walk toward for inspiration. I also particularly enjoy the baskets of tiny books outside, I always find something wonderful and weird in there. Prices are really reasonable and the staff are lovely and helpful!
