Waterstones

I know, I know, independent book shops are the best and this is part of a chain. However Waterstones BSE, does have a wide selection of books, of every genre, the staff are super helpful and really very knowledgeable of their wares. The staff actually read some and leave a mini review on some books. The shop is well laid out and there is an occasional spot to sit and stay for a while. There is a lot to like even if it is not independent.

Was incredibly disappointed to see no display for Black History Month. When I asked the staff I was greeted with blank stares and just a response of 'We don't have one'.
Needless to say, I spent my money elsewhere.

We went on the spur of the moment. It was a excellent experience. My nineteen year old son said he could spend a whole day exploring the mass of books, then he would like to go back again and again just to get lost in the world of literature.

What isn't there to love about a book store? In Bury St Edmunds we're lucky enough to have two Waterstones, one in the modern Arc and the other in the historical market square. Different in looks and size, one thing they do have in common is they are both bursting with books. The staff are passionate about books and the stores work together, so if you can't find what you're looking for always ask because they'll check the stock in both stores for you 🖤

Always love a book shop, and although this is a very large, modern book shop it strangely gives the feel of a quaint old fashioned shop. I usually find everything I am looking for.

Great selection of books, fantastic layout, really helpful staff.
