One of my favourite book stores.. I support the independent traders rather than Waterstones.
This is a quaint old style book store.. A bit like Black Books TV show, it's set in a gorgeous courtyard ideal to just sit and read.
Love a good rummage to discover something new.

Great place to spend time browsing for books. Mix of new and second hand titles.I always find something to take away.

More importantly it's the kind of shop which helps keep Taunton town alive. It's independent, it supports local events and the staff are friendly

Amazing local bookshop - always welcoming atmosphere - very helpful relaxed staff. Great selection of second hand books & literally any book you want they can order for you, usually with a discount - and usually it gets there the next day - making it cheaper & more sustainable option than Amazon.

A great find. Nice independent bookshop with tonnes of old and vintage titles; perhaps just may have that special one you've been searching for?

Good overall selection of new books, with a large, well-organised 2nd hand section. They make an excellent contribution to the local community of writers and readers by hosting and supporting events.
I found this rare copy of a Brian Aldiss book on their SF shelf.
Worth walking down Bath Place to support this shop.

No competence as an online retailer. Ordered a book. Never arrived. Called the store - they had no idea where it was. I asked them what they were going to do, was told ‘it would turn up.’ Got the refund as the package had been missing for over a week with no tracking. A slip from the Post Office turned up to say money was due as the sender didn’t pay enough for postage. Missed a birthday party. Had to explain to the store that a refund ought to be issued. Sloppy.

It’s just sad that there aren’t more real book shops like this one. The assistant was friendly and helpful and the shop was two floors of books. Real books. My only regret was that I couldn’t spend more time browsing as I dread to think what gems I missed because of a lack of time. If you’re in Taunton and you like books then you’re in luck. I envy the locals. Great shop…..highly recommended.
