Amazing and much needed addition to the Cardiff book scene. Hand curated book and zine collection by super friendly and knowledgeable staff. (I also came home with a record and a bag of beer so be careful).

The best book and magazine store in Cardiff!
Rosie is always so kind and knowledgeable. I was glad to hear that Rosie can order in books, as I was able to buy books that I couldn’t find elsewhere! There’s always such a great selection and great recommendations at the store too.

Cardiff desperately needs an alternative bookshop. This is it.

Two amazing things happened in Cardiff in 1990. New York Deli opened in all its bagely glory, and Rosie was born. Roll forward the clock and Rosie has added to Cardiff's array of small independent businesses, built from the ground up to bring good things to the city's good people.

Shelflife Books and Zines exists for YOU, it is a haven, a safe space and a place to be exactly who you are and discover wonderful reading material. All without lining the pockets of tax evading massive nasties.

We're plainly biased in many ways as Rosie is a solid gold human giving a super exciting thing a go in super tough times. And she stocks our zines. However, we have visited huge numbers of bookshops and sourced zines and mags from around the world, and we know a good thing when we see it.

Whilst COVID may have pulled down the shutters temporarily, you can still check out a wide range of inspiring reading material on the Shelflife Cardiff website but also urge you that once they're able to reopen, pop in and say hi - you won't regret it. You might even get to meet the amazing shop dog, Bertie!
