Situated snugly in one of the oldest buildings in Montgomery, Eaves & Lord Book Shop is a stunning addition to the village.
Up a few steps from Arthur Street, first impressions of the shop from the outside is one of a book filled front room, but once inside the shop is warm, welcoming and carefully laid out. The wooden shelves complement the exposed roof and wall timbers, the log burner by the counter is burning brightly, the books fit a curated aesthetic.
History, travel, gardening are common themes, hardbacks aplenty. The shop is laid out into themes, and there as many fiction books too. Upstairs is another room lined with shelves.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming, happy to talk about the shop and its interesting history. Prices are typical for physical book shops. This shop fills a niche as one of the only dedicated book shops in the area and it is definitely worth a visit.

Love this old book shop, we always visit everytime we go to Montgomery, really worth a visit....managed to find quite a few 'unusual' books there for Christmas presents....fits in nicely with all the other shops and cafes of Montgomery....Love it

Traditional bookshop in the heart of Montgomery with a friendly, welcoming owner. Although the shop has been closed for a number of months due to the Covid 19 lockdown, it is lovely to see that it has re-opened, albeit over a reduced number of days. Excellent selection of fiction in English and Welsh and non-fiction for a smaller shop. I would certainly recommend a visit.

It certainly has a quaint & traditional feel to the shop, but I would prefer to walk into a book-store and not smell cigars. Nonetheless, the owner seemed fairly friendly, but the smoke was just unbearable.

Extremely helpful, spoke with Richard. Very knowledgeable and was able to point out the exact book that I needed. Also trying his best to order another book I need. Friendly atmosphere and a lovely restored building. I cannot recommend this business enough. Thank you!!

Opens inconsistently. and not always to the advertised time. Very Welsh in a not very Welsh town. Not a vast selection. A little out of place I think.

Visited this lovely book shop with my daughter today. Had a restful and peaceful time choosing books from a fabulous selection. Left feeling lighter and contented😊😊(and with books to read!)
