From the moment my daughter and I walked in the door we knew we were in the right place. Some truly beautiful dresses and the the ladies who work there are amazing. Helpful, knowledgeable and patient. Nothing is too much trouble. We will miss popping in for fittings etc. We now have my daughter's dress cleaned and in a beautiful box another lovely extra offered by Proposals. We can not recommend them enough. Don't look anywhere else for a dress this shop is a real gem .

We entered another world on a grey day along The Parade in Crawley.
My daughter was very nervous about her first try at finding her wedding dress but Viv and Clare at Proposals put her very much at ease and found some terrific options for her. There was so much choice, in a greater range of sizes than seen elsewhere. We were really thrilled with our experience and value the staff's experience and reassurances. We left floating on air, looking forward to the next step and fittings.

If I could do less than one star I would! The best thing about the place was the chime that played on the door when you walked in.
We went on a Saturday afternoon (I had booked the appointment) to find the shop was absolutely packed. Lots of questions when we first went in, and then had staff members bring dresses to show me (whilst still stood in the doorway) asking if I wanted to try it on. I didn't get to browse the rails or make any choices for myself.
Eventually a evidently stressed staff member beckoned me to behind a curtain and I tried on a dress. When I came out my family were still stood in the doorway and I had to wait whilst another bride was stood in front of the mirror evidently almost deciding on her dress. She was rushed away so I could stand in front of the mirror - unfortunately in front of the other bride's family whilst mine were still stood in the doorway.
I tried on about 7 dresses in 45 minutes - none of which they clip to fit you, I had to decide on the most important dress with a staff member holding it fitted against me - not ideal. They also frequently told me when a dress they were showing me was out of my budget - if they didn't say it once they said it 100 times.
The whole experience was overwhelming, frustrating and not what I wanted from a wedding dress shopping experience. Luckily I had a great experience at another shop which made a family member travelling down from the Lake District for the weekend worthwhile.
If you make an appointment you don't expect such a bad experience regardless of it being a Saturday. Unless they change their working practice I wouldn't bother going to Proposals - they don't care about you or your dress, they just want as many people in there as possible to make sales.

I came to Proposals to choose a dress for my daughter for our wedding vow renewal ceremony.I booked an appointment as I knew a Saturday would probably be busy and I wanted to spend some time with her choosing the right dress. I had already bought my dress from another shop but wasn't happy with it and was told it was too late to cancel the order...What can I say all three ladies were amazing and after coming back 3 times for fittings they helped me choose another dress for myself that fitted me perfect and I felt amazing in.
I had been recommended Proposals by another friend that had also purchased a wedding dress from here and had found her perfect dress also.
They certainly didn't let me down. The ladies were really up against a time factor and my dress was all adjusted and taken in within 2 weeks they really worked so very hard and gave a real personal approach. A massive thank you to Viv, Rachel and Clare. Thanks to you all I felt amazing....x

The team at Proposals were lovely and so welcoming to me. They spoke to me about what I had in mind for my wedding dress, and were happy to pick out a variety of dresses for me in different styles and didn’t mind how many I tried on! They made me feel comfortable when trying on the dresses, and welcomed my family in too that came to help with choosing my wedding dress! I can’t wait to wear my lovely dress next year now!

Would definitely recommend, I found my wedding dress here. First shop, first dress. I loved the fact as soon as I walked in they welcomed me and my bridesmaids. They asked me what my budget was and then showed me all the dresses on the rails within my budget. There was no hard sale and no pressure to buy. Once I had chosen my dress, I then went back once it was in for my fitting. The alterations were organised by the shop, again very reasonable. Then I have just had my wedding dress cleaned and box. My wedding dress looks brand new. Definitely worth a visit. Thanks to all the ladies ❤️

I first got my prom dress from here and had such a great experience then, I knew that I had to get my dress and bridesmaid dresses from here too! Viv and her team were wonderful. I didn’t feel rushed or pressured into buying anything I didn’t want. I was made to feel special and really enjoy the time trying and choosing my dress. When I returned to buy bridesmaids dresses the experience was just as good as before. Highly recommend!

I couldn't recommend this beautiful bridal shop enough. I had the most incredible experience here with my friend. Anyone who's ever been married will tell you that planning a wedding is one of the most stressful things and deciding on a dress is a huge part of your special day. But it shouldn't be stressful when it's meant to be beautiful and honestly the staff made this entire experience not only stress free but exciting and emotional. It is a perfect setting and the lady who helped us talked us through all our options with no pressure. We found the most beautiful dresses and honestly can't thank you all enough for such a wonderful experience. I will definitely be taking my friends here when they are ready for their special days in the future. Thank you again!
