Have been going to Bill's since they first opened in Berko. Started off great, lovely food and nice staff but the last few times I've been have been massively disappointing. Food looked like it was cooked by someone who was learning to cook for the first time and staff were not attentive at all. My scrambled eggs were the worst I've ever seen, I could see chunks of egg white and egg yolk, looked like a boiled egg mixed in a blender. I showed it to the waitress and her response was 'that's how we usually make them'. Will never return, there are plenty of nicer places in Berko.

Classy, stylish and the food is great. One of the best places to eat in Berkhamsted

Good coffee and a nice breakfast. Bills garden breakfast is what I had (in the picture) which was a lovely balance.

Very disappointing. I have enjoyed eating at Bill's several times over the last few years, mostly at the Berkhamstead branch. Last night's visit was far below the modest standard we have come to expect. Tuesday night is not usually a busy night and there were almost as many staff as customers at around 8pm. Perhaps bored out of their minds, the waitresses were deep in conversation with the waiter around the till and apparently forgot what was expected of them once our orders were taken.
The food and simple drinks eventually arrived after much prompting, brought by the very apologetic waiter. The platter starter was very nice but the burgers weren't. The "well done" one was too dry while the "medium" was under cooked and the bun was stale and fell apart, as if it had been inexpertly thawed in a microwave. The chips were limp and not crisp. In previous visits, all had been just right.
The point of a limited menu is to ensure a consistently high standard.
The chain needs to decide whether it is going to close this failing branch or invest in some proper management to bring it back up to scratch.

Amazing food, drinks and staff! Would 100% recommend the butternut squash stew and grain salad. It was amazing! Only thing I would say is that it is a chain so if you want something more special than that I'd go somewhere else.

Great food, good service. Right on the high street so plenty to see and do in the area and 5 minute walk from a free carpark. Really enjoyed the desert!

Ate at Bill's with my daughters and it was great. They have a menu to suit all ages and tastes from child (my 19 year old ate from the children's menu) to old fogeys like me, and but also catering for meat eaters and vegans. Service was great, although staff seemed to be rushing around. Have eaten at other Bill's restaurants and food/service has been consistently good.
