Website says "We have a large variety of dishes representing the taste of different parts of India, as well as Italy, Europe, Malaysia and Thailand."

However the options available were mostly Indian food , which is fine but don't go with expectations from the website

There is a live wok station but sometimes this isn't staffed so the bar staff have to go to the kitchen to get a chef.

For the price you pay , you expect a wider range of food from countries such as "Italy , Europe , Malaysia and Thailand"

Additionally , the staff we had weren't very helpful during our visit because the website doesn't go with the range of food available .

Customer service was non- existent. When entering the restaurant the staff member who seated us was on the phone and disinterested and it was the same upon leaving and paying the bill. All chicken dishes tasted chewy and the Mayo had turned yellow. Also if you want a stir fry, there is no meat to add in during the lunch time!!! Clearly Iceland deserts were being served too, some of these items stale. Will definitely not be coming back. Appalling hygiene. Could’ve spent £30 elsewhere.

We arrived and was seated quickly. On sitting down the table was still grubby and the cutlery was dirty. We had Pepsi Max which was very flat. We then went up to the food and took a plate, 2 of the plates still had food on them where they hadn’t been washed properly. It also became clear pretty quickly that most of the food was frozen food like you can get in Iceland. The chicken in the curry was extremely over cooked and there wasn’t very much to offer of food from other place “around the world” other than curry and rice except a burnt and obviously frozen pizza. We didn’t finish our first plate and left straight away after paying £30 for a lunch time meal that we didn’t even eat. We won’t be returning and we’re very let down as it was our anniversary and couldn’t afford to go for any other meal so our anniversary dinner was a complete disappointment

Been here several times now and although i always enjoyed it, yesterdays visit was the best yet.
As we arrived, i could see there was a member of waiting staff checking food that was already displayed on the serving counter. The lady at the bar greeted us with a big smile, and seated us straight away and got our drinks. It was very quiet upon our arrival, but this changed very quickly and soon it was filling up with hungry customers. There was a good feel to the place, with two table waiting staff taking drinks orders and clearing your plates as you finish. (This is a definite improvement)

Food has also improved. I am unsure how to put my finger on how, because we always enjoyed, but the quality is just better now. There wasn't anything I ate that I didn't enjoy, and I always find a few things that I don't like. The chef for the live cooking station was in the kitchen out the back when we arrived, but that is to be expected if we were only the second customers to be seated, but a member of staff did get him and he greeted us and took our orders. Great food, for the price paid.

We are already returning customers, but we will now be recommending Spice Route to others.

*very disabled friendly*
Just had a fantastic lunch at this awesome restaurant. Being an absolute newbie to spicy food, Raj the manager, took me on a little tour of the various foods on offer and explained a few things I needed to know. It was really nice having the central cooking station, watching food cook and talking to staff. The food was lovely, varied and hot. Toilets were good, assisted handles in the regular toilet as well as disability toilets. Very happy to see this. All level access.
Raj made this visit just that little bit better by reminding me about the free parking. Due to my disability, I would have totally forgotten lol

The place we originally booked let us down last minute for our Staff Development Day! Luckily, Spice Route was able to accommodate 50+ people on the day with no hesitation. This wouldn't usually be the case but they were understanding.
In the end, we really enjoyed our time. Good food options. We particularly enjoyed the dosa and noodles which were cooked fresh. Good dessert selection too. What could have been a disastrous day became a really enjoyable day in the end so thank you 🙏🏽

First visit in a long while. Front of house was welcoming with a warm smile. Allowed us to find our own seat and explained the buffet. There aren't many selections compared to JCR or others, however it's also £3 cheaper. The food is mainly Indian and some live wok cooking with veg, beef, prawns and chicken options. 4 star for cleanliness, friendliness and pricing.

A lovely buffet with friendly staff and a good variety of good. Great for those who want a true taste of India especially as they have genuine street food, (bhel Puri and dosa's).
