East Croydon

Rude and miserable staff at the barrier. Lost my oyster card (had £25 on it) on a train I was on and I asked this evil man for assistance. He was so arrogant and lazy. Basically, he acted as if he didn't want to be there. I didn't mind paying at all and all I asked was for an information. Thanks to the young man at the ticket office, you were ever so professional.

The worst station ever! Constant delays, horrible platform, information display always provides wrong info, constant change of platforms at last second, so you would not even make it to the right one

Good links, busy station, helpful staff but expect last minute platform changes during rush hour and train delays.

It can be a bit difficult getting between platforms as you have to in some instances go quite a round about way between platforms. BUT I've always found that if i can get to East Croydon station I can always hop on another train to get to my destination, which, at the end of the day, is what I really want in a 'hub station'

WAITING FOR BUS GOOD SERVICES

Southern Rail, some staff need re-training. One of the staff members told me to run for a train which was not even in service. One guy spoke to me and was actually helpful, so thank you, hence the second star. Another just looked like the customers were just being a burden on her and was huffing and puffing when asked a question. Sorry, but is this not your job?!

I then went back and asked, are you sure this is in service? I mentioned it SAYS its not in service and she insisted it was in service. So I went back on and waited just to be called back out after 5 minutes and the next train I need is in 40 minutes. All this faffing about ffs.

If this was the case - I would have got an Uber or even the bus. What a joke. When the train finally came, passengers had to wait for another 10 minutes before the train left the platform 🤦🏽‍♂️

Appalling treatment by female barrier guard at EC station today, I asked her politely to please open the barrier as my ticket wouldn’t work and my train was due. She was unbelievably rude and told me to get my ticket reissued in the shortest manner. I realise that she was speaking to another passenger but I asked politely and she could’ve easily excused herself for 5 seconds to help me so that I could catch my train. Shocking treatment.

Have had wildly varying experiences here. Half of the staff are brilliant, half have no idea what they're doing. Very busy station, where the trains are nearly always late with signalling problems and trains change platforms regularly. Average.
