Palfreys butchers

We get our meat her regularly, including our Christmas turkey which has been boned, stuffed and wrapped, every year the turkey and all the meat purchased is excellent. This is by no means my closest butcher as I live on the other side of Newport but it's is by far the best we have ever been to. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the whole place is clean and tidy.

Popped in after having no luck at all the ‘butcher’ counters at the big supermarkets.

Both guys were lovely, they cut me a fresh lamb loin fillet off the bone and answered all my questions about where the meat had come from! Great local butchers - will definitely be returning!

I have had meat from here over the last 9 months and the topside & silverside has been the nicest I have ever bought. Also had steaks, barbecue meat, sausages and lamb which has been all the same quality would highly recommend this butchers.

I have been ordering my meat from Palfreys since going into self isolation due to Covid 19. I cannot praise the staff highly enough and I have never had such lovely meat. Everything is exceptionally lean which suits us, and so tasty. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. I shall continue to buy my meat here when we come through this. High quality spotless Mark very knowledgeable Christmas meat especially game delicious. Jane very welcoming. My wife Jill has been using this shop for over 50 years. Would not go anywhere else. These 2 people are special. Love the banter on Saturday.

Been going to Mark at Palfreys for many years. The meat is always of a high standard. They're very friendly and knowledgeable about all of their products. Mark will tell you how best to cook it as well if you need help. Best butcher around in my humble opinion.

Will never be going again! If ur looking for high quality and low fat meat this isn't the place for you. Bought a week's worth of "extra lean" beef mince thinking being extra lean on the label in the store that it would be perfect for staying healthy. Boy was I wrong! Cooked a portion up tonight and just feeling the texture it was full of grissel and fat, after cooking it was literally swimming in grease (I've has 15% fat from tesco less greasy than this stuff) wish we hadnt wasted our money! Better off in tesco!

The meat is the best quality I have had from around this area. Great customer service too. A good, local butchers you can rely on.
