A classic Welsh family run shop where all meats etc are only of the highest possible standard and fresh to your table

Dai Butch has the only Royal Appointment in Wales bestowed by HRH The Prince of Wales.

As a Jock I have to sadly concur that his haggis is the best I have tasted in my life.

Friendly advice and cooking tips on what to do with your purchase.

Well done to all at Mathews Butchers Llandovery. I feel privileged to eat your meat.

Fantastic family butcher's always a wide range of products available and the chilli and maple sausages are out of this world. Always A friendly welcome too.

The best butcher in the Land. Stunning produce of all descriptions. Welsh Black, Welsh Lamb, Welsh Poultry to name a few. Now sourcing beautiful fresh fish also.

Best Welsh lamb double chops I've eaten in a very long time. Excellent sausages as well. More expensive than supermarket meat, but worth it for the quality. Chops marinade in their mint dressing and then barbecued were just amazing

Interesting experience of this butcher. We ordered to collect ahead of a self catering holiday and when we were unable to travel, we did not want to let them down so asked them to send the beef fillet and lamb rack to us. The fillet was full of flavour, well marbled and was the best we had tasted for a while. The lamb was great too. We arranged a repeat order but the quality was appalling. Frankly I have tasted (far) better fillet from Tesco’s - this had no marbling therefore very little flavour and the texture was fibrous. I fed back and was told that it was great as they had tried it. Well clearly they have no idea what decent meat tastes like which is really concerning. On the basis of our second order, I can only assume that we got very lucky the first time. A complete waste of well over £100. Thanks Dai! I would advise all to avoid unless you can see the meat in the shop.
