Around the Exeter Quay there are several cafes, bakeries and restaurants. The Ridge was recommended by my niece as having great coffee and yes they do!
The range of cakes, donuts and pastries is super too, along with their toasted sandwiches and bagels. A nice side salad might help too.... maybe consider having salad Saturday if salads are not popular throughout the week! 😜

Fab cafe! I went for a dog walk on the quay and fancied a cuppa and one of the famous cinnamon buns I keep seeing advertised online. Unfortunately they had run out (I went at lunch time so understandable) so had one of their huge biscoff custard doughnuts which was a super tasty treat with my cuppa. The staff were lovely and friendly too. I’ll be back again next time I come to the quay!

My boss and I stopped here for a coffee before our finance meeting. Lovely counter arrangement of delicious cakes, bins, muffins, cheesecake, such a welcome sight for the eyes......
Unfortunately the same couldn't be said from the three servers on duty. We waited for someone to acknowledge us and say good morning abd it just wasn't happening, no eye contact, they knew we were there, yet continue to keep their heads down. So we broke the silence and said good morning could we order a drink and the young male barista at least replied. He did a great latte decoration and the Terry's chocolate orange cheesecake was delicious. Bacon butty was OK but needs love and care.
Ridge team you need to be more welcoming and look happy in your work, and think about how you can make your bacon butties more appealing

Walking to work, but it's a Saturday and I'd rather be tucked up in bed. At least the sun is shining. However, if you want to put a spring in your step pop in to these lovely people. The aroma of baking wafts out of the door. As you walk in your greeted with smiles, a bounty of baked goodies and a stylish interior with pot plants and wood.

I had a flat white, which along with the Lilac Bakery and Presshouse, is one of the best in Exeter, and a warm, sweet, squidgy, aromatic cinnamon bun. Yum!

Then of course there are their home baked doughnuts, but there are only so many calories I can tell myself I'm burning off on the 2 mile walk to work!

One of the best sandwiches we've had in a long time. Highly recommended for coffee and a snack. Only drawback is the service as it was quite slow but also not very friendly at all which was a shame. The sandwich made up for it though!

Really nice place, but not mobility friendly. Steps to get in, and tables quite close together. But if mobility isn't an issue, then it's a good place to go. Food lovely and so are the staff.

Coffee tasted ok flavour wise but I think it’s supposed to be served hot rather than warm. There was just one table free when we went in but as my friend & I made our way over, the curly-haired guy working behind the counter (all the other staff were female) said “oh I’m not sure if Claire’s sitting there”. No “hello” or “can I help you?” just this off-hand, weird comment. The tiny table with 2 stools was empty, the table clear, no bags/coats to suggest someone was sitting there & had just popped off to the loo… he didn’t say anything else so my friend & I just sat down awkwardly. If it had been down to me I would’ve walked straight out again after such a “welcome” but my friend was keen to stay as she thinks the coffee is good. If the owner of the business bothers to read this, perhaps train your staff in how not to talk to customers if you want repeat custom. I’m not particularly bothered however as I’ll be spending my hard-earned money in other establishments where they can be bothered to treat their customers like human beings who have a choice about where to go for coffee & cake. Good luck for the impending recession, I think you’ll need it :)
