This feels like a bacon sausage and egg type truckers cafe. It definitely ISN'T a tearoom and doesn't do cakes, though it does do latte. If you want cakes try Costa just up the road. I'm not saying it's bad, but "The beans and burger bar" would have conveyed a better impression of what it's like. Food looks very cheap but coffee isn't.

You would think for their prices it would be top quality food but it was so average and was still left feeling hungry so had to go Greggs further down the highstreet. A set breakfast doesn't even come with a slice of toast or even a cup of tea. Ridiculous money grabbers. A set breakfast is supposed to set people up for a good day, builder's, office workers and the rest us... Not leave us feeling robbed and still hungry !

If this is not the best cafe around, oh yes it is.
Is the food better than the staff, or are the staff better than the food, no they are both the same just brilliant and brilliant customer service.
Just after being in there twice they knew what we wanted i just love that and even down to asking how you are if you've not been in for a whlie they actually care for you welfare.
Now the food!!!! It's cooked and presented perfectly as a ex chief and working in some brilliant restaurants in London, and with all these combinations will keep me coming back.
5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for the cleanness of the cafe too.
Thank you the Village Cafe keep up the good work.

First visit today; huge plate, no grease Big Breakfast - 2 fried eggs, 2 rashers bacon (good thickness), 2 sausages, baked beans, tomato, hash brown, mushrooms & chips for £7.95!! Orange juice, mug of tea + slice of buttered toast - excellent as a brunch, great value and perfectly cooked. All very clean, good turnover time and friendly staff, will definitely come again.

Overpriced and cramped cafe serving average greasy spoon fare. Breakfast don’t even come with toast or tea - you have to buy it all separately. A standard breakfast ends up costing about 8 quid, which is atrocious considering it’s just a local cafe. Also - you get the ‘regulars’ cluttering up the front of the shop chain-smoking in the seating area staring out anyone who walks up. Not for me. George’s cafe was wayyyyy better back in the day, shame this is all we have now.
