Crouch St. Bakes

It's a lovely little café. They offer, coffees, teas and herbal drinks. They also offer a wide variety of home made cakes. We choose a slice of lemon drizzle cake. There is no Inside seating but the tables are spread out on the square outside.
I highly recommend it.

Wonderful staff, tasty cakes and brownies, and great place for coffees. We love to stop by on Saturday mornings with our dog.

Great little cafe with outdoor seating. Their coffee and bakes are super tasty and they don't charge an arm or leg for them. The ladies here do a great job!

The best! Best cakes in Colchester easily. 100% recommended. Lovely team.. they are so sweet! I go at least twice a week. So glad this place exists!

I popped in there as the Costa machine in Tesco wasn’t working (please forgive me, I’m not familiar with this area!). All I can say is I’m so glad it wasn’t! The caramel latte has to be one of the best I have ever had, the staff were lovely, and they have the most fantastic selection of cakes on sale too!

If I’m ever in the area again, I will definitely be going for round two. And I recommend you do too!

Finally - somewhere on crouch st that does real coffee!!

The staff are amongst the friendliest I've ever had the pleasure of being greeted by. Super enthusiastic and passionate at what they do - never been without being greeting by huge smiles!!

Cake and bakery selection is unbelievably good, and incredibly reasonably priced. (If you were in London, you could easily charge 2-3 times.. if not more).

Hugely recommended, especially in comparison to their neighbour competitor who only does filter coffee and overpriced mediocre desserts.... Given the option; always go for Crouch St Bakes!!!

Always great drinks and cakes. Though they do run out as so popular. Good not to waste food though.
If you want delicious sausages rolls you have to pre order.

Hugely disappointed with my daughter's birthday cake. I ordered it 3 weeks in advance and paid upfront. I requested for it to be ready after school drop off in the morning at 9am. When I arrived I was told it would be ready in 15 mins. After coming back to collect, the box felt very warm and when I looked inside the cake was an absolute mess where it had obviously just been put together and iced when it was only fresh out of the oven. I took it back and said I would return at 3pm to give them the opportunity to make another one. However the cake I collected was clearly the same as the one in the morning but with the icing just redone. I was too embarrassed to use it at my daughter's party as it looked so terrible. I had to buy a new one from the local supermarket. I was very upset and felt extremley let down. Shocking way to treat a loyal customer, I wasn't even offered a refund. I will never use them again.
