Love both the place and the authentic people running it. Coffee is great and the home made pasta for lunch is wonderful.

Aston & Magill in Wimbledon is a lovely little coffee shop with tasty food, decent coffee and friendly staff.

Because of an office move, I recently started exploring SW19 in search for good lunch spots. Quickly I came across Aston & Magill, a friendly and very relaxed coffee shop in Wimbledon. Unfortunately walking there takes me about 20 minutes, and in combination with somewhat slowish service, it is difficult to fit a trip down to Aston & Magill into my lunch break. However, every time I go there, it is definitely worth the effort, and who would mind to walk 40 minutes on a sunny day?

The place looks beautiful and simple - it does not try to be something it is not, it's just a lovely neighbourhood coffee with high-quality food and pretty good coffee.

Once I had a chicken and bacon sandwich, that tasted as delicious as it sounds. Another time I had the pasta with tomato and bacon sauce, also a very tasty dish.

When you are lucky, you can even get the single table outside in the afternoon sun. While I do not like the metal table and chair - the wooden furniture inside is much nicer - having lunch in the sun is too good to be put off by a table and a chair.

Aston & Magill is definitely one of those places that I just liked as soon as I walked in. Staff are friendly and funny, and the quality of the food is great. They could be a bit quicker though.

At my first visit, I've also noticed that I probably need to get used to hanging out outside of central London - while I was sitting outside, a girl, most likely an arts student, dropped some drawings on the empty chair at my table outside and asked me if I could watch her stuff for a few minutes. Later she came back, picked her drawings up and walked away. Fascinating that people in Wimbledon seem to trust complete strangers on the street - most likely a good sign that speaks for this neighbourhood.

My job takes me all over London and I spend a lot of time meting people in cafes. This place is my local and it's not in any 'London Coffee Guide' but seriously has the best coffee in town. Also does great breakfasts and is run by lovely people to boot.

Been living in the area for year but always walked past this cafe, I tried it today and it's such a nice cafe, friendly staff, good coffee, and good price. Got a nice community feel. Will visit again.

Lovely food and friendly and efficient staff. To call it a cafe is an understatement. They take real pride in preparing quality ingredients cooked to high standards.
