Holland Park Cafe
Category: Cafe in the Park
Wifi: reliable and free to use (need a code)
Seating: There are lots of outdoor tables and chairs, and inside also many sofas, small tables and chairs. In the backyard, you could find some wooden tables and chairs. Some power outlets can be found indoors but very limited.
Ambience: Outside definitely it is wonderful and lovely, especially in a sunny day, but inside it may be narrow because it is located under a bridge shape. Still an ideal place to enjoy a piece of peace in the central London.
Cost:
Coffee £1.5-£2.4
Tea £1.25-£1.5
Something special about the cafe:
The park definitely
Problems:
(1) The style is like a old school canteen and the chairs are not comfortable actually.
(2) Difficult to find the power outlets for your laptop and phone.
(3) The food is quite basic and the coffee is average, so the price is a bit expensive in this case.
(4) It is quite busy and the service is slow on lunch time, especially on weekends.
This place is appalling. I recently worked here as an agency barista.
I am literally gagging as I write this, BUT THERE IS ANTS IN THE SYRUP!!!! And I even had to serve people using the ant syrup after discovering an entire colony of ants in the vanilla syrup.
Hygiene is clearly not their top priority.
It's a real shame that the Holland Park can't get someone who cares about the business to take on the unit instead of the current company.
The food that came looked depressing and tasted worse. Tart of the day was more like a hockey puck (a hard inedible disc), the avocado was tasteless.
Service was dreadful: the girl behind the counter didn’t know what vegetables were in the tart, then talked dismissively about how she deals with customers right in front of us while we were waiting for our food.
Avoid this place and head down to Kensington High Street instead for some proper food and better service.
The staff is really good, really nice people!!!
