Well impressed with the gardens over all up keep and variety of plants. The paths were an easy walk and the map was of great help. There is a nice area to watch the ducks and ducklings. We also ate at the cafe. The cafe has a variety of premade sandwiches and salads that are a bit over average price. The desert is really good so make sure you grab that.

Excellent gardens with a wide variety of plants, and environments in the hot houses. Very educational, spent three hours there and it was not enough. Good eating and drinking facilities.

Nice to see that the plants are very well taken care of. 😀

I see a lot of the positive reviews here seem to be more in favour of the gardens, rather than the actual cafe, and would like to offer further clarification.

We had a fantastic time round the gardens and were looking forward to a stop-off for some drinks and cake.

We had a number of cakes, each one of them of appalling quality and severely overpriced. They were dense, dry and stale, especially the brownie which was borderline inedible.

My mocha was overly sweet and not well mixed. Overall not a good coffee.

This is a real shame, as it is clear the managers of this cafe are taking for granted the footfall of those visiting the gardens, and are in no way putting any effort into delivering worthy food, drinks or service, especially for the prices they are commanding.

I offer caution and recommend bringing your own picnic when visiting the botanical gardens. It really is a lovely setting and a fun day out for the kids. It is a shame that the cafe lets it down.

Little bit too pricey for what you get. Friendly staff and nice clean area. Good range of indoor and outdoor seating. So a mini library for little ones.

The food is really expensive and poorly presented. For example the soup was delicious but was lukewarm in a card cup. The dry bread was very cold and served in a crumpled paper bag.

beautiful gardens and worth a long visit! we intended for this to be a 2 hour visit, but we ended up staying for 5 hours. the best part is that the purchase includes day tickets and you can come and go as you please before it closes. we ended up coming back in the late afternoon to view more of the attractions and gardens since it’s such a big place. my favorites include watching bumble bees in the lavender fields, strolling by the pond with swimming ducks, and visiting the glasshouse range!
