Beautifully prepared sandwiches on lovely crusty bread in a covid friendly environment. So take away only at the moment. But served in a safe, socially distanced method. Trosley is a beautiful place with plenty of space to enjoy the Kent countryside in a gorgeous woodland setting with amazing views over the North Downs. What better way to spend an afternoon on a long walk followed by a freshly prepared coffee and a slice of home made cake at the Bluebell Café.

Bluebell is a café us cyclists have used for several years ,a small group of us arived there today at midday to find the indoor seating closed due to the council's interpretation of covid rules .This meant the outdoor seating was overcrowded,ok I am fully aware this awful deadly virus must be eradicated and these measures are the only way to do it. But despite these measures put in place by council experts on the subject of virus transmission . The virus is on the increase .The point I am making here is basically no one has got a clue on virus control myself included, at least our chancellor wanted to get the hospitality sector working again before we all go down the financial lavatory with our mask on.

Delicious BLT sandwich with fluffy bread, succulent bacon and fresh salad. Efficient service. Clean toilets. Peaceful location. Perfect for lunch stop!

This cafe is one of the highlights of trosley Park and the wider area. The staff are both friendly and accommodating. The food is top notch and something I always look forward to when back in the area. I've never had anything but perfection.

I note some of the cruel comments and 1* reviews...it seems some people , especially Paul yomama, don't realise how much effort these guys put in to running a true local treasure. A little effort on their part to put a mask on isn't too much to ask.

I hear the council are taking the cafe over soon.....they are sure to ruin it so
Get involved while you can!

A great cafe and good service provided by the hard working staff. I go there fairly regularly and always enjoy the tasty sandwiches, cakes and coffee.

Thank you to all the staff for providing great food which is always something to look forward to after a long walk through the park. The organisation of the cafe during lockdown especially has lead to a safer environ for us all.

After a glorious 6 mile walk around the park and valley beneath the dog and I went for our usual after walk tea cake and dog biscuit.
On arrival I could see the cafe was open but they were only serving from the outside hatch and giving out the food from the sliding doors.
Precautionary but fine, even though the government have lifted this restriction and we can now enter said cafes.
I attempted to order food from the hatch which had a perspex covering ( precautionary and still fine) to be told that I needed to wear a mask to order?
I explained I'm outside in the open air to be told that where I'm standing is classed as indoors ??
I explained I'd just walked miles and was in dire need of refreshment only to be told again I need a mask but don't worry as they can sell me one!?!
The government guidelines state face covering of two layers so I folded my t shirt up and covered my face ( even though I was outside) and asked again for refreshment.
I was refused yet again and at that point told them to do one .
These people ARE NOT judge jury and executioner and I WAS NOT doing anything or breaking any of the guidance ( not law as told by the rude staff)
This is victimisation purely on the fact I'd forgotten a face covering ( I had no plans to go into any business at all so why need one?)
even though I was ordering from outside in the open air ( government guidance is covid is blown away so no need for face covering)
I have used this cafe for many years but am now never going to return .
When considering which way to lead the club out on a Sunday this cafe will no longer be on our list of stops .

Just enjoyed yet another tasty sandwich this morning at the cafe. Made by the lovely people who are always cheerful and friendly. Sitting in the sunshine surrounded by woods, what could be better.
