The Outpost Cafe

Unfortunately service was very slow after being very helpful over sorting out what was available for those who need a gluten free diet.
I think that the staff were a little out of their depth when they got a little busy so don't know how they cope if it got really busy.
The staff were friendly and approachable.
The prices are reasonable and the food was of a reasonable quality.
If they can improve the quality of service in the length of time from taking the order to delivering the order to the table, then they would have a really good little business

The name of this business is Illicit Cafe, no longer The Outpost. Have only eaten here once, but will definitely return for the relaxed vibe, cool music, happy mixed-age skate and scoot clientelle, Park-located outside tables, and reasonably-priced short order yummy grub. We had the buttermilk chicken burger, thrice-cooked fries (so good) and a toasted panini.
This was a 10 minute ish walk from our visiting at the hospital on a sunny day and i would recommend it over the chainstore outlets that might normally tempt time-starved hospital visitors. There's also a convenient car park.
And they care about and know how to make a decent flat white coffee.

Great to have a cafe right next to the park. I only grabbed a couple of cans of drink and used the toilet. Staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a little sparse inside, probably because I believe it has recently been taken over and is now called Illicit Cafe. Could do with some more pictures, plants and colour inside and a decent sign on the exterior. Very good overall. Will go back for sure.

Coffee and service excellent, wife had a hospital appointment. This is THE getaway just 5 minutes away. Warning: The sausage rolls are of good quality with perfect non indigestion pastry. I also received a likewise warning from a regular patron who told me about the bacon butties....

Awesome place to take a break and sip a coffee which so tasty 🤤 and good quality skateboards to buy not to mention the awesome staff.!

First time visit, been meaning to go for ages. Lovely, clean, place with a wide enough menu to suit most visitors. Seating outside in good weather and inside if the weather is poor. Outside is picnic benches, inside tables in a pleasant room with a well kept marine fish tank for added interest. Our server, Star, is very pleasant offering prompt and friendly service, with a chat too if she is not too busy. Just a short walk from our home, I'm sure we'll be back!
