Lovely cafe and gardens. House was shut but still nice to walk round the gardens. Cafe had nice outside seating too.

The cafe and food are very nice but... unless you are a National Trust member parking is £2/hour. We had gone for lunch so didn't stay, 2 hours (with friend) would be the cost of a dessert. Come on NT, we don't mind paying for parking but not to pay to eat your food as well

Another wonderful national trust property with loads of history. Multiple rooms open in one wing across 2 levels. Interesting video on the history of the family and the house. Extensive parkland for walks with the dog. Some nice gardens, although nearby Holker Hall gardens are better. Large cafe right at entrance with picnic area out the front. Loads of parking free for members or pay and display.

A really lovely shop with loads of brilliant souvenirs and gifts. There's some really different ideas and lovely seasonal ideas for Halloween and Christmas! Staff were really friendly and made my visit.

Typical national trust. They cannot get enough volunteers so only one floor of rooms open - not that they tell you when you buy your ticket! Also zero information provided, so you have to ask one of the volunteers in the rooms, if you can find /get to one.
Gardens are open and worth about 45 minutes interest. There are wider dog friendly walks through their farmland.
