In a great location next to the canal at Stroud. Excellent food and generous servings. Very friendly staff. Really enjoyed our jacket potatoes with tuna mayo! Would definitely eat there again.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch here on a hot summer's day. The staff are welcoming and passionate about their delightful establishment. The location is an added bonus. There is a courtyard dining area overlooking the canal lock (hence the name) which is lovely, although a little hot for the day I was there. Perfect for a cooler day's dining. Inside is bright and airy and you still have a view of the canal from the window seats. If you're in Stroud I'd definitely recommend a visit.

Walk-in orders for hot drinks (who ordered after us) kept being served first, with the result that at least 2 tables were left waiting a very long time for their meals.
Having specifically requested gluten free toast, when it arrived it was ordinary toast, which would have caused a significant reaction if I'd eaten it.
There seemed to be just one person able to make hot drinks, which may have been the issue and it was a shame as the prices were good and the setting great.

Had a lovely iced coffee here. Very dog friendly and great vegan options! Looking forward to the canal being reconnected to see boats passing by!

Generally really good, but refused a sandwich at 2pm as they close kitchen at 2pm ready for 3pm finish- I dont see how small businesses expect to thrive when turning away business on a very quiet rainy day.

I had a tuna and mayo baguette, millionaire shortbread and bottled apple juice. Baguette was nice as hot/warmed up, shame was just tuna and no mayo though. Apple juice was nice but not quite as good as strong apple just you make yourself. The millionaire shortbread was quite nice was good and thick but wasn't a goo balance as roughly 49% biscuit, 50% caramel and 1% chocolate. It would be better if all same amount.
Only small bits I'd tweak but still nice.

Mulled Wine, mince pie and Delicious Hot Choc. Something for everyone in a relaxed atmosphere. Really friendly staff and clean toilets. What more could you ask for.

Lovely little cafe. Tucked away behind the canal visitors shop. Good selection of cakes, sandwiches, toasties and jacket potatoes. Staff were very attentive. Would definitely revisit.
