What has happened to this place!!?? It used to be great - fresh food and ample portions. But on a recent visit we ordered bruschetta plus a large garlic bread (which used to come in the form of a garlic bread pizza) and in the past it was always excellent.

Unfortunately, what we received this time was an embarrassment. The bruschetta consisted of some chopped tomatoes and garlic on thick stale bread which was microwaved shortly before being served. This was followed by what appeared to be a small, hastily defrosted, economy value garlic bread baguette. Needless to say we didn't finish the food before the waitress came over and started spraying everything in sight with her spray bottle. I would sincerely advise anyone having a drink here NOT to use the sugar sachets on the tables as they were also given a good dowsing by the waitress's chemical spray.

It's a real shame that this place has gone downhill so swiftly...

Excellent food with a very friendly atmosphere. Lovely to eat in a family run cafe instead of a chain eating house. I will be back for certain!

One of the few independent licensed café restaurants left in Exeter. It's been tastefully refurbished and can cater for individuals right through to large groups. Great customer service with a welcome to match. If you want an experience where you can eat and drink good quality food and drink at prices that won't break the bank then pay a visit. I believe you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Just had a meal which included a cup of tea (or coffee) at a very reasonable price! Spacious and welcoming interior with a children's play area. Highly recommend.

A spacious cafe with a lovely little children's area, with books and toys. It feels a lot calmer and less clattery than the high street cafes. A lovely place to meet up and chat with friends, friends specially those with children. Friendly staff and good value meals.

Perfectly fine food and drink but a shame about the staff. It is clearly advertised as a child friendly place but today I was told off because my baby was crying when I was clearly in the process of pouring her a feed. This is a 5 month old baby. Apparently it is unpleasant for other customers. There were 2 other people in the whole place and they didn't seem bothered. The manner of this staff member was rude and it upset me so much that it made me cry. No mum should be made to feel that way when she's trying her best. I won't be going back again and if you have children, I wouldn't bother either.

Edit: following this and my email of complaint, the management have conducted a very thorough investigation and have apologised for the incident and stated that it isn't how the staff member was trained. It is still sad that is happened and unacceptable but they clearly have management that take these things seriously which I do appreciate.

THE WORST service I have ever had. Incredibly rude member of staff (one in-particular) and takes 10 minutes to make a take away coffee. Such a shame but won't be returning due to that member of staff.
