Staff were so lovely and the atmosphere is fantastic.
Also visited with my nan for coffee and cake - had the shortbread which was excellent.
Definitely one of my favourite places to go to now.
(Excuse my poor photo skills but it was so delicious had to share a pic)
Ordered breakfast brioches and flat whites. The food was delicious but the flat whites were scalded and burnt my tongue. Milk for flat whites should be steamed to 55-65°C. Surprising as they usually get them spot on here.
What was disappointing wasn't particularly that the milk was scalded, that sometimes happens when coffee shops are busy, but it is usually resolved when you point it out. Unfortunately here it was met with a reluctance to put it right. We had the bizarre response that she "couldn't cool the coffee down" 🤷♀️ and did we want any cold milk added!? 🤨 That's not a resolution.
She did agree to make them again but what arrived at the table next was like a very milky latte. We just wanted flat whites, like they used to do so well here.
