Came here for the Beauty and the Beast themed afternoon tea. It was amazing! The theme was very well thought out, even 'try the grey stuff' cheesecake and an edible rose cake pop. Every part of it tasted delicious. The staff are super friendly and the setting is very relaxed. I highly recommend

Do not recommend, we had very disappointing experience. We had the Harry Potter high tea. The other themes looked a lot better, so I can’t speak for those.

The cupcakes were dry and quite sickly; the cookies tasted like raising agent or something of the like; the golden snitches were Ferrero Roches with paper wings stuck to them; the shortbread was delicious, but had a thick layer of fondant on them that made them too sweet; the treacle tart pots were also delicious, but had fondant too for some reason.

As for the savoury bits, the cheese parcels were delicious, but the finger sandwiches tasted of toothpaste and the mini sandwiches were quite plain, both were dry.

The service was excellent, until the end when we were asked what we thought and we were honest, saying that we were a little disappointed. The person taking payment, possibly the owner, became very defensive and a little aggressive. She demanded we give her feedback, but then argued with us and our comments.

We just paid and left. We won’t be returning nor recommending.

Went here for a beauty and the beast afternoon tea, it was so cute and sweet in there, it was organised amazingly, we went in and our afternoon tea came out straight away! The woman was super friendly in there and done an amazing job!

I went to this place to pick up some cakes that were ordered a week or so before. I did get to eat some of those cakes. OMG those cakes were amazingly good! I love those cakes so much I'm going to go back as soon as I can and see if I can get an individual order just for myself!

If you want the most delicious most amazingly tasty cakes, these are the people to order them from.

We had the Peaky Blinders high tea with vegan options.(Red Right Hand’ def needed adding to the playlist!) We’ve also been for ‘Be My Guest’, ‘Hogwarts’ and the ‘Friends’ one. We keep going back as we love it so much - although we’re not local!

Although the savories tasted great, they weren’t in the same theme. Can’t imagine the Shelbys sitting down for sushi and cucumber sandwiches! A nice vegan cheese and pickle might have worked better. (UPDATE: Have been again since for another theme and they have def tried to keep with the theme and create vegan alternatives so updating review to 5* as deserved!)

The sweets were really nice and we loved the creative chocolate gun and razor blade shortbread!
The display was lovely and we each had a bar item - loved the gun and bullet shot glass!
The lady who does it is so creative and we loved chatting to her. Can’t wait to come back soon!

This place is one of my favourite places for self Indulgence!
The staff are always great and the cakes even better. I've yet to go to one of their events but I'm definitely going to in the near future.
There is something very satisfying about having a cup of tea (of which there are numerous amounts to choose from) and eating a generously sized cake while watching the world go by.
Recently I ordered a number of cupcakes for a party and they were absolutely divine, each cake was a work of art upon itself.

Would give 6 stars if I could !

Words can never fully describe our experience. From start to finish absolutely amazing.
My mother in law died in December 2022. We wanted the reception, after the cremation service, to be an afternoon tea. She always loved scones, jam and cream. The first venue we booked, for 16th January, cancelled our booking on Xmas Eve. The second was unable to help but reconmended The Sugar Boutique. What a find👍🙂👍🙂. We walked in and met Tasha. What a star. She is absolutely focussed on making sure your event is totally tailored to your every need.
Sugar Boutique cater for all types of gathering for example childrens Harry Potter parties, big birthday afternoon teas, Hen gatherings, Wakes etc.
We discussed the food and Tasha said that with the cup cakes she could add a topper with my mother in laws face taken from old photos. They were classic.
We had bicuits with tributes in the icing and a pot dessert that my mother in law used to make for the grandchildren which Tasha replicated in mini teacups and glasses. The, now in their 40's grandchildren were delighted.
We had a super selection of sweet and savoury foods along with tea, coffee and orange juice. We decided to toast her passing with a glass of Prosecco.
We were able to hang family photos around the room and display various photo albums and memorabilia, for the family, to evoke memories.
Tasha and her team were incredible. The room was beautifully prepared and the food display was very eye catching. Drinks were constantly topped up but Tasha was very discreet as she circulated.
We are extremely grateful to the Sugar Boutique for ensuring that our families were able to send mum, grandma, mother in law ....off in such style. We could not have asked for more.
If you want to be spoilt, feel special and want an afternoon tea to remember, (probably maximum of 25 guests) you will not find better than the Sugar Boutique.
