Bolivian pastries

We went all the way to Wivenhoe when visiting Colchester, just for this bakery. And oh boy it was worth it. I’ve never had Bolivian baked goods before and I’m lactose intolerant so a vegan Bolivian bakery ticked all the right boxes.

Maria was such a lovely lady and she talked through everything when we asked. We pretty much ended buying all the Bolivian goods and we enjoyed all of them. My partner in particular enjoyed the Bolivian empanada and I loved the alfajores. We ended up going back on the same day for seconds!!

Every Thursday at the uni market I’m sure to get a slice of the chocolate fudge cake…nothing beats this cake!!!! Definitely worth the trip to the uni market or bakery whether you are local or not.

As Argentinians we didn’t think we’d enjoy the empanadas and alfajores as much as we did! We were so excited to find vegan South American food!
