We got Putty Cakes recommended to us by another cake business who had to cancel our wedding cake due to personal issues. It was short notice originally but they managed to fit us in. We ended up getting married 2 years later due to covid and Putty Cakes were amazing and patient with us and the changes in dates. We got married on the 8th April 2022 and the cake was everything we hoped for. 3 sides original white wedding cake and the 4th side was avengers!! It was absolutely incredible, Putty Cakes we thank you and will definitely return for any future Cakes!.

So I used Putty Cakes as my manager was leaving. We work in the ecom department at Waitrose and wanted a cake to suit so we chose our managers favourite van. Putty cakes was recommended to me by another company and numerous friends who make cakes but knew the standards I was looking for. I have to say they exceeded all expectations of the cake and it was honestly amazing! I did worry that a cake of this size was going to be dry and not the nicest but again it was honestly one of the best tasting and moistest cakes I've had! Would definitely recommend for any event or party! The cake was huge and over half got taken home after feeding 25 people!

We used Putty Cakes for our wedding as we wanted to use a local baker and after viewing their web site pictures, they were the one for us. After visiting the shop and communicating our thoughts and showing a picture of a cake we wanted. Gavin got his magic mind & hands to work, and wow were we very surprised with the result, the cake we more then we have expected. All our guest said what a lovely cake and the taste was delicious. Not only did Gavin make a wonderful, unusual wedding cake, he also made Gluten and dairy free cakes for us. We would recommend Putty Cake 100%.

Putty Cakes is definitely highly recommended! We're so lucky to have our wedding cake made by them. We received a lot of compliments from our family and friends. The design was so elegant and the taste was exquisite. Gavin and Anita were so lovely to work with and they're so accommodating. Communication has been great throughout.

The cake tasting was very organised. We had the opportunity to taste different flavour of cakes. We initially wanted a 3-tier cake but it was difficult to choose because everything was really yummy! In the end we decided to order a 4-tier!

We asked for our design to have cherry blossoms and gold sash. Our wedding cake had 4 layers: chocolate, lemon curd, red velvet and victoria sponge. We also asked for gluten free and dairy free cupcakes for our coeliac and vegan guests. Our cake topper was made of fondant and it was very cute! Considering that we also had an evening buffet served with our cake, we didn't have leftovers at all! Everything was eaten up! We had around 97 guests in total and I wish we got a 5-tier cake instead. Our family and friends were really impressed with our wedding cake.

Thank you so much Gavin and Anita!!

We chose the company to make our wedding cake after meeting Gavin at a wedding fair. He was friendly, engaging and happy to help with our request.
We had a tasting session where we tried multiple samples, of which all were delicious 😋 and we left high off sugar, half a stone heavier and confident that Putty Cakes were the right choice.
The final result was fantastic with many of our guests praising both the appearance and taste.
We would definitely recommend these guys: amazing company, great communication keeping us updated at every turn, friendly owners and, of course, the cakes are super delicious. Thank you very much 🤵🏻‍♂️👰🍰🥂

My daughter had a one-to-one with Gavin, she absolutely loved it. Gavin was brilliant, so friendly and made her feel very relaxed. She came away feeling like she has really developed her piping skills, putting them into practice straight away.
Would thoroughly recommend Putty Cakes to any young bakers out there!
Thanks Gavin!

We ordered as Minion’s Birthday cake for Oliver’s 6th Birthday party. Putty Cakes were great to deal with through the process and proved very competitive in terms of price. Anita was very helpful and is clearly very passionate about her business. They will shortly be moving from their Charlwood premises to Dorking which is great news for Reigate residents as they will be a bit easier to find, and less off the beaten track. Recommend highly!

I meant to leave this review some time ago but did not get around to it.

In August last year, I unexpectedly lost my best friend aged 23. Her 24th birthday was the same day as her funeral so I asked Putty Cakes to create a ‘Me to You Bear’ cake. I really wanted it to be spectacular as it would be the last chance we would have to celebrate her birthday.

When I first collected the cake I was amazed - it was absolutely beautiful. I followed the instructions and carefully placed the cake inside the boot of my car and drove slowly to the wake.

When I arrived, I lifted the lid and the heavy head of the bear had not been secured at all. Meaning it had fallen off and to all intensive purposes the cake which was so important to us had be ruined adding enormous stress and upset to an already awful situation.

The shop had already closed by the time and eventually I got ahold of someone who agreed to come to the address and fix it as best the could. They managed to salvage it a little but it was never the same.

Later when we went to cut the cake - we realised the head was completely and purposely inedible. Made of stale rice Krispys. It was really upsetting to me. I understand certain techniques are used to create cakes but this cake cost in excess of £100 and 1/3 of it was inedible this was never explained when I ordered!!
Not to mention the fact that the heavy head had just be balanced on top of the bears body leaving it a disaster waiting to happen.

When I told putty cakes about my dismay - I was told there was nothing they would to to rectify. The whole experience was really disappointing
