Eggless Cake Shop

The eggless cake shop provides different types of cakes for all different occasions. Plus you can also buy cakes which are ready made to be eaten straight away.

The good thing about them is that they can make a cake in one hour if you require or you are short for time. We got them to make two different types of cakes - one being a normal eggless cake and the other being a gluten free cake. This is the only place where we could get a gluten free cake from. We had to travel 20+ miles to get a gluten free cake.

The other bad thing about the shop was that it was not that big inside and can only have three people at a time. With the current corona virus the size of the shop does not help.

The best cakes ever, with superb service, and I would suggest everybody orders from them. Have placed 4 orders with them, and will do many more.

One of the best in the city. Love the taste and the design. Here I got 2 pieces for 7£ in total.

The cake is nice however they should put less sugar in the cream .

It was downhill from there.

They were great tasting cakes in the end and I have been a loyal eggless cake shop customer in the past, but I will try and avoid this branch in the future.

Absolutely atrocious customer service with no solutions offered for a mistake they made, including trying to convince me a Black Forest cake has a vanilla sponge and blueberry jam filling. I think the Germans would beg to differ.

I had triple-checked with the employee taking the order over the phone that these were in fact in stock but was still blamed for making a last minute order (the day before!) as a reason for their mistake. Well, this is something I am truly sorry for: I certainly won’t commit the mistake of giving your branch business again!

Showing the description of the code used to order from the website matching the receipt was also not convincing to this employee.

Food wastage was also touted as another a reason to refuse me this refund the first three or so times. I don’t disagree that this is an issue, but why should it come out of my pocket? No one’s stopping you from making charitable donations at the end of the day!?

The initial petty 50p discount for a perceived alternative to Black Forest and then a £3 refund wasn’t even close to the price of the original cupcakes (£10.50) and it took 20 minutes of back and forth with the employee and apparently two different managers over the phone to finally give me a full refund. The incorrect cupcakes were subsequently taken back rather unceremoniously.

I’ve also seen some rather lofty replies to other negative reviews here which attack the reviewer rather than approaching the criticism constructively so, I’m not sure there’s scope to improve here. Unsurprisingly, it’s the unhappy customers who leave the bad reviews. The happy ones are busy eating their (correct) cake!

TLDR: Rude and incompetent staff but very good cakes (the ones they get right).

Have been using this shop for every cake.

They have prepared a cake in 4 hours and it was delicious , fresh and moist.

They have little selection of cards and candles too , which is always a bonus.
