Lovely home made baked goods and the best tea we had the whole trip. Very good value. Pop into the chippies conveniently located across the street and then some delicious pudding and tea at the cake shop.

Passed this place by chance on a rainy day - wow what a superb range of tempting looking cakes and pastries - it was so hard to choose just one! The cakes tasted as good as they looked, which is not often the case. You get a very generous piece for a reasonable price, I will definitely be returning to sample others.

Abysmal service spoiled our visit. Ordered two coffees and a cake and fresh cream scone from the display. Coffees eventually arrived. After another long wait for the cakes and reminding the waitress I had to go back to the counter 'to show her which cakes' we had ordered. Needless to say one of the cakes was gone 'and there are no cream scones left'. Decided not to bother changing the order as by now I had lost the will to live . Wouldn't recommend and wont be back.

Having had lunch and cake here a few times and also a couple of take always, I can honestly say the cakes are as good as they look. They’re great!

When it’s quite the service is ok. But if you sit in when it’s busy, or even when it’s not busy, be prepared for sometimes painfully slow service - I’m talking a 30-40 minute wait for a couple of warmed up pasties with a salad. And that’s after you finally get someone to take your order.

The coffee is also quite average, at best, verging on bitter from being brewed too hot I think, on the occasions I’ve had it.

So in summary, great cakes, pasties and pies, but the coffee and service lets it down, otherwise it’d be 5 stars.

We decided to stop here for a drink and cake as a snack. There is a huge selection of cakes, I got a lemon drizzle which was lovely, and everyone else enjoyed their cakes/scones. There was some confusion on ordering the drinks, my brother wanted a vanilla milkshake, which I was told they only had 4 flavours, then told I suppose a plain would be vanilla. Well what we got served was a glass of milk, we found it very amusing. She changed it no problem to a chocolate milkshake, but to me it was just chocolate milk. I always thought milkshakes where made with icecream? There was an option for a thick milkshake, which I can only assume is a milkshake with ice cream
