Bella Cakes

Terrible service for our best friends wedding. Ruined their wedding cake and cup cakes for the day. Apologised for the inconvenience and agreed to refund within 7-10 days, blamed members of her own staff (saying they were incompetent). Well over 10 days and still no refund. Incredibly unprofessional making up multiple reasons as to why the service was so poor and yet, still no refund. Would not recommend to anyone looking to order for their wedding or any other events.

Given Bella cakes plenty of opportunity to return the refund I was advised I will be receiving due to the awful cakes received on our wedding day. Instead of dealing with the situation in a professional manner took the personal route which would be fine providing Rachel followed through. No mention of partial refund just took it upon themselves to only give half and then told will sort something over next few weeks - then proceeds to ignore messages off me. they don’t compare to the cakes shared on social media. Attached some photos one of my bridesmaids took the morning after.

Rachel was enthusiastic from the get go. Listened to what we wanted and created the cake we had in mind. Unique and beautiful cake that also tasted fantastic. We also had a special tier which was gluten and dairy free for some of our guests, it tasted great and Rachel was so reassuring. Delivered safely on time and also kindly lent us their cake stand too! Would 100% recommend! Thanks Rachel x

All seemed well and good in the meetings and ideas for the cake, we decided to go for a multilayered curtain back with marvel hereos on each tear. When brainstorming ideas the cake was going to be perfect. BUT THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. We did not get to see the cake until after the ceremony on the wedding day, where the marvel hereos were just sugar icing stickers that you would find on a cupcake pack just bigger. We also asked for blue fake flowers and were given white fake flowers without being told. This was meant to be £200 worth and I would say this was close to £50. All in all this cake was not worth it for a VERY SPECIAL day like a wedding, maybe stick to birthday cakes :)

Rachel was nice from the get go her exact words " if you leave the store now i wont let you change anything the cake with be amazing ". I had a consultation and cake tasting and we even had a sketch made.

I wanted something unique for my cake and unfortunately rachel did not follow through when it came to the day. The cake was white when i specifically mentioned i wanted it to be matching my dress. I even showed her a picture !!!.

Even the second teir of the cake when it was supposed to be pink was nothing near pink was silver. It really made me sad on my wedding day as the cake looked nothing like the sketch. I even messaged rachel on the number provided on Facebook and she ignored my message. The number does work as she has replied to me before.

I dont understand within 1 month if she had wanted to re confirm she couldve messaged me. She gave me confidence in her to leave her to it with her exact words. I was looking forward to it. And i was just disappointed as ive seen her cakes online.

I would definitely not hire her for asian wedding cakes. If youre after a plain white cake then i would go to her and make sure you re confirm it all even if she tells you to trust her and leave her to it. So devastating...

My partnet went with me and even him on the day was confused to why the cake looked like it did.

AVOID FOR ASIAN WEDDINGS !!!!!

My review is being posted late, as I got married in September and I have been trying to resolve the issues with Bella cakes directly, but they firstly responded being nice, then I have had some really terrible replies, then I was told not to contact for 10 days as she was seeking legal advice and then she has ignored all correspondence. The cake we had on our wedding day, was supposed to be 3 seperate tiers, when we got to the venue it was all stacked upon each other, not the same design. We were meant to have billionaires flavour on the bottom layer, to which we tried at cake tasting and it was delicious but on the wedding day it was so rich our guests nor us could eat it, as it was so sickly. Our second layer was a Victoria sponge with raspberry and white chocolate, but again did not taste nothing like the one in which we had tasted in our taster session. We ordered Welsh cakes as favours, which we paid extra for, only on our wedding day to find they were mini ones, but yet this was never advised of this and half of the guests didn't have welscskes they had shortbread buscuits. After speaking to Bella cakes no genuine apology, or offer of refund, as it was all brought back as I had a cake that looked the part and it was the flavours we asked for although not tasting the same and no response to the lack of welshcakes/ shortbreads. I would not use Bella cakes again, as they are quick enough to take your money but do they do not deliver on what is discussed or promised.

Thank you for my wedding cake. I got a fantastic deal that included a three their wedding cake and party favours for all guests! They asked what flowers I was having during the day and matched them no problem, not to mention the flavours available being hard to choose which to go for and the cake tasted amazing. Really pleased and couldn't recommend them more! Even delivered from Swansea to Somerset which I didn't expect when looking at cake makers for our big day. Thank you to the team for making it so special.

We knew we wanted a cake from Bella Cakes as soon as we tried a sample at a wedding fair. The cake looked and tasted amazing and received nothing but praise from all the guests. They were accommodating and were happy to make amendments close to the date. Would definitely recommend!
