Liked: Really enjoyable stay. Facilities basic but clean. Field was large with good views to Crich. Owners son was very helpful and called round while litter picking to see if everything was ok. Cromford canal nearby for a good long walk. At £8 a night it was very good value. I would definitely be coming again.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike.

Liked: Super directions, postal code took right to the lane, site was clearly sign posted. A Friendly warm welcome, clear and simple instructions on how to get on and off the site, the loos and bin located.
Big mowed field plenty of room for everyone on a fully booked day. Field is on a very slight hill, no problems pitching and cooking. We decided to pitch up on the back of a cattle field, had super views even enjoyed the odd moo now and then!
Really easy going site, we took our two dogs, and a gazebo at no extra charge. Really liked arriving at 6 and not leaving until 2 gave us a really relaxed and pleasurable pitch up and take down.
The toilets and showers are no frills however they always had toilet rolls and hand soap, hand dryer big mirror and a charging point for straighteners or hairdryer. the two ladies showers had a non slip mate in the tray and plenty of hot water.. all in all everything you need while away.
Everyone was respectable during our stay kids playing, dogs all on leads, smell of log fires and bbq.. lazy evenings with laughing and a few cheeky drinks - what more do you need!
A great location, not far from Matlock, Bakewell etc.. we will return before the summer is out, enjoy!

Liked: Great and friendly host, explained everything on arrival. secure and remote location (as in locked gates with code and far enough from roads to be quiet), view was great, simple but clean facilities (shower, toilets, wash up areas, drinking water, bins). Budget friendly (2 adults + child - 8gbp).

Disliked: whole field was on little slope. not a big deal, but noticeable from distance. On spot it doesn't feel that bad and there were plenty of even spots to camp. We personally didnt see this as issue, but some people might.

Liked: Hanging farm has amazing views from the camping field. On arrival we were met by a very
polite gentleman who checked us in and showed us to the field. The field is on a slight slope but has lots space. Our young children loved it. It was very peaceful at night too. Basic toilet and shower facilities but you have hot water and they do the job. We found it great location for Dovedale and matlock. We will definitely return.

Disliked: Only booking for 3 nights

Liked: Lovely welcome at checkin and everything about the site was explained clearly.
A nice big open field with views all around.
The shower and toilet blocks aren't decorated and luxury looking with all the frills but they do have hot running water in the toilets, they flush and the showers are electric and powerful. No extra charge like other sites in the surrounding area. They are also clean and toilet rolls topped up regular. There is also a pot wash area but didn’t use as we washed our pots at our pitch.
Stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the peaceful site. Played music from a speaker whilst having a drink and awaiting the BBQ.
Nice friendly owners who came round regularly to check everyone was ok and happy with their stay.
If you don’t manage to get a spot at the top of the field it is rather hilly. We weren’t too bad as in a VW van and had levels. If we’d have pitched sideways then it would have been less hilly. Our mistake.
Good location to tourist attractions. We visited the Tramway Village, it was brilliant and good value for money, anyone with kids, you must go, they’d love it too.

Enjoyed our stay and it is good value for money.

Liked: Toilets very clean and well maintained.
Wood for sale and log burners available to use for a deposit.. I recommend washing machine drum. Pitches are well looked after and maintained on regular basis.

Disliked: Not Really A dislike more a note that the field is sloped but if you pitch you're tent right its no issue.

Liked: Everything! It was exactly what we wanted, and even exceeded the great reviews.
First time camping for our 2 little ones ,( first time in many years for Nana! )
They had enough space for frisbees and general running around. No swings, shop etc to distract them, just good family fun.
Quite basic , good showers, toilets etc
The family on the farm are welcoming and very approachable on their regular walks round the site to check everything is ok.
Thank you Hankin Farm.

Liked: This is a great campsite with everything you need. Fab location, good facilities; the ablutions were kept to a high standard throughout our stay. Friendly owners who were there if needed but left us to it; great balance.
We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back next year for a little bit longer.

Disliked: There's nothing to dislike. It is what it is. No frills but more than value for money.
