Liked: The site was very pleasant and well maintained. The camping area is situated at the top of the site on a large flat (slightly sloping) field. The non-electric pitches are not marked out so you can pitch where you like, the electric pitches are at the lower end of the field and are marked out. There is also a children's play area just behind the tent camping area which is very handy to keep the kids entertained for a while.

One the tent field there is a shower/toilet unit with 2 rooms containing sink, hand dryer, toilet, radiator and shower. These are very clean and have a mop and bucket to be able to dry up after your shower ready for the next person. There is a water point on the other side of the field along with a large general waste bin and some bricks to put a portable BBQ on.

The staff at the site were very friendly and wandered around a couple of times during the day/evening. At about 10:00 pm they came and took a look to ensure that there wasn't too much noise being made which meant that everybody could get a good nights sleep.

There is a small shop on site which was great for the kids to have a wander to and buy some bits and pieces.

We'll definately be back here again!

Disliked: Certainly not a dislike but if I were to be picky I would have liked to have seen a pot washing area up at the tent end of the site. If you need to wash pots then it is a walk/drive down to the bottom of the site. We mostly washed our pots at the tent but when we had more to wash I only did this once over the weekend.

Liked: There is a large space for pitching tents on a slight slope but didn’t bother us it was great with a play park close for the children. Toilets were clean and tidy never had to queue. There is also a bigger shower block you can use further down on the site but is a walk.
All staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Disliked: The only thing I would say is the pot wash it quite a walk from the tent pitches with a rather large step to get to it .

Liked: Where do I start!.
A well maintained site with clean facilities on each pitch.
The facilities are great and the laundry definitely was handy for myself as I was staying in the area for work.
There's an on site shop with good essentials and not overpriced.
The best thing for me was seeing so many families enjoying themselves, young people were not on devices but playing football, tennis, rounders and enjoying the children's play area.
This is a great place with just about everything you need , there's even a nice pub just a short walk away.

Disliked: Not the owners fault..
The huge bins being emptied at 6.30am on a Monday, very noisy which obviously wakes most people up.
Mobile signal isn't good.

Liked: First time taking my children camping, one 5 and two teenagers. Site was lovely so clean, toilet facilities fantastic, all kids loved the playground and a few walks around the area. Will definitely returning.

Liked: Visited here with our 4 young children (ranging from 2yrs old to 9)
Lovely site with amazing views located not far from Malton. Very well looked after and very tidy (saw staff walking about picking up stray rubbish which was nice to see that they were take pride in their park’s appearance) very clean facilities, very clean and well looked after children’s play area which our children loved. Although the tent field was full when we arrived, staff were very accommodating and allowed us to pitch on the field next to the play area which was lovely and quiet, and very spacious which allowed the children to run about without disturbing others.

Disliked: Although not a huge issue there could have been more toilet facilities located near the tent field as the main toilets were a bit of a walk away when the tent toilet blocks were full, and have little ones who are desperate for the loo. Also, there could have been more washing up facilities located closer to the tent field, as again, these were a bit of a walk away.

Liked: Excellent site with plenty of space on and around each touring pitch. Facilities on each site are very good and pitches are all well kept.

My only adverse comment relate to the male shower cubicles that were lacking facility to store clothing whilst showering, especially some sort of shelf or stool to assist older customers to dress more comfortably.

Disliked: See above.

Signposting to the site could be improved. I was directed into Slingsby and ended up on a single lane farm track which necessitated having to turn round, no easy task with long motor home pulling a small car.

Once I got my bearings, access from the main road was good.

Liked: - Great base for Whitby / Pickering et al
- Fantastic toilets/showers
- Friendly reception staff
- Great playpark for kids
- Flat pitch
- Lots of space to pitch
- Great stargazing opportunities at 3am

Disliked: - Whilst the adjacent road was not particularly busy, 'cos the site is in the middle of nowhere, the car/lorry sounds travel for ages. You could hear cars approaching a minute away, then as they went past the site, another minute in the other direction.
- No site noise management (Other campers talking until 1am in the morning)

Really well set shower an toilet block. Very clean. The play park was an absolute winner for the kids. Will definitely be going back and look forward to going back there.
